Red Wings Racecar

Ran across these articles on Brian Keselowski and his Reds Wings-sponsored racecar in the Nationwide series. The race is in North Carolina this weekend, so obviously the home crowd won't like it. Nice to see him supporting the Wings in enemy territory

Keselowski's brother shows Wings spirit

"This was Brian's idea just because he's a Wings fan," Bean said. "He wanted to support the Wings in their series against the Chicago Blackhawks. And, we all know the Wings might get Carolina in the Stanley Cup series."

"Wait until the fans ... see that car Saturday," Bean said. "Yeah! Go Wings!"

Apparently another car is sporting the Hurricanes logo.

Nationwide teams sporting hockey logos

"Everybody at the shop are Red Wings fans," said Keselowski, whose team is based in Michigan. "We just happened to be sitting around at lunch one day and were talking about Game 7 against Anaheim. We're all talking about going down to Charlotte, so maybe we should [run] a Red Wings car."

Keselowski said he found out Tuesday that MacDonald Motorsports would have its No. 81 Dodge carrying logos from the Carolina Hurricanes.

"I thought, 'No, way,'" Keselowski said. "We just got done wrapping the car. We were like, 'Well, that's going to be a neat coincidence.' I saw some pictures and was like, 'Naw, we got them beat. We've got it all over the car.'"

The Hudler Mobile  The articles go on to say that the Wings organization cleared him to use all of the copyrighted material. The Winged Wheel decal was overnighted to get there in time for the race, and will be on the hood.

Speaking of Red Wings and racing, on Carb Day at Indy on Thursday I was in the pits talking photos of Paul Tracy... and I realize that he talking to Larry Murphy. I tought it was him, and them as he starts to move away I look at his hard card crendential and sure enough it reads "Larry Murphy". He was there with the Versus crew that's been covering Indy all month. He got away before I could say "Go Wings!" or take a photo.
