Ouch. Drapes is only 7 months older that Malts.

They are both getting old....I hate to say it but have also lost a step or two.

After seeing the video of Pav taking that shot off of the inside of his foot, I don't know what to think. He could be back next game or he could be out of the playoffs. I've taken slappers off the boot and it seems like it's either something you shake off that game or it's a deep bruise or a fracture. Obviously it's the latter...

Yep. It breaks my heart to say it, but if Malts retired this off season, I would be happy.

Me too. Also we know that Chelios will not retire so LET HIM GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disagree on the basis that he signed his contract over the age of 35, so we'd be on the hook for his 800k+change cap hit. For that little bit of cash, he's a perfectly good 13th forward.

Actually, Maltby signed his contract before he was 35 (May 4, 2007, 33). Draper was over 35 when he signed. So Malts could retire and it wouldn't count against the cap.

My bad. I had it in my head that Malts was older than Draper, who just turned 38.

Thanks for setting me straight without being a butt about it. I appreciate it.

If we win, I could maybe see him retiring.

But in an interview he said that he and Drapes felt they had a lot left in the tank. So I wouldn't be surprised to see him play out his contract, at the very least.
