Please someone reassure me!

Before G3 i was very convinced that we can win the cup in 4/5 games, after G3 i'm really worried that s***tsburgh can win this series 4-2

i saw a very soft team,a good 2nd period but just one chance to score (Samuelsson's post)

Ok,referees don't help Detroit and (Gill Orpik Cooke can do everything they want) also here in Italy we know that NHL want make Crosby the new Gretzky and Malkin new Messier,Penguins new Oilers dinasty.....but we are DETROIT!! we are 11 times Stanley cup Champions!!! why a game so poor? Motivation? Damn is a Stanley Cup final and we are stonger that s***tsburgh!!

Please someone reassure me!

...sorry everyone for my english ;)

Is anyone here really surprised at tonight's outcome, though? I think we all new something absolutely retarded was going to happen, and oh, look, it did. Personally I thought it was gonna be a run on 5-on-3's, but this was much, much awesomer.

point, set, match.

awesomer....that's exactly what it was. last night's game was exciting. it didn't go the way i wanted it to, but i was on the edge of my seat for most of it. if folks think that one loss in the SCF means that the Wings are done....well that's just sad. oh yee of little faith.

Your English is fine, my foreign friend. Game one of 2 in their barn, on their ice, with that crowd? Pens were borderline goon in game 2, imho, so I think the Wings held back a little in the beginning to see how the Pens would play, and also to see how the zebras were going to blow (or who they were going to blow). Not really surprising for game 3 of the SCF if you ask me.

Day after post-mortem: I was afraid this might happen. I was not really feeling too good about this one, for whatever reason, and it went down more or less as you might expect. The Wings seemed to play a good game and had lots of pucks at the net, but if it don't go in it don't count. Although Kronwall was being a useless screening pylon to Ozzie on the Letang goal that he made no effort to block, that one seemed pretty stoppable.

Everything that needs to be said about the Too Many Men fiasco has been said, I assume...

The good news is Hossa will score twice tomorrow and the Wings will win. :D

You do realize that fighting is allowed in hockey, right?

There wouldnt' have been anything wrong for Ericsson to do that.

One thing I Know is, I don't want Ericsson watching the rest of the series with his hand in a cast. We are playing with a depleted lineup already.

You do realize that, right? /sarcasm

The Finals are not the place for fighting IMHO. Getting injured, penalized or suspended because you want to "send a message" is not playing smart hockey.

Besides, we are not Pittsburgh. There would be no rescinded penalties.

We should not be fighting amongst ourselves. Bad karma. We can all agree now

That...

1) REFS suck

2)bettman will always be a *******.

3) Pens won a game big freaking deal.

4) Wings WIN Thursday

and finally

5) Game 5 = :champs:

Can't we all just get along? :tomato:

No, acting like a paranoid, conspiracy-driven wingnut Pittsburgh fan gets our panties in a twist!

Hypocrisy of the officiating? I'd say the massive miss on the Z's glove over the puck and Ozzie's ass was a nice one for the refs to ignore - and Ozzie's faceplant on Stall with the stick - there's been missed calls on both sides.

I quote Alduos Huxley: "The only truly consistent are the dead."

The refs can't always be exactly on top of everything, but for gawds sake they are NOT in a conspiracy.

Wings don't need crybabies screaming about Bettman and officials - they just needed a couple of breaks in the second period, or more gas in their tank in the third, and they would be up 3-0.

You must be new here. :)

I know it seems cocky, but if the Wings don't give the Pens that game there's no way they are capable of taking it on their own. I'm guessing it's a combination of playoff intensity, injuries, and fatigue, but the Wings are killing themselves with the sloppy passes and poor clearing attempts. How many times have the Wings forwards blocked a seemingly successful clearing attempt only to fail to move it the extra five feet and then turn it over for a scoring chance. Osgood is really carrying the team.

Even still the Wings took it to the Pens for long stretches of game three. If Datsyuk can play in game three and be at least 75%, the Wings will have an advantage. Pens have no defense, inconsistent goaltending, and almost all their offense comes from the Wings charity.

Anyone notice if the Penguins are being called lucky winners or if their success is being downplayed like the Wings in the first two games?

what a s***tily reff'd game... 45sec of 6 men on the ice... Cooke running around like Kronwall on Havlat and nothing getting called..

I guess there is a chance now that bettman can get crosby to win the series

Despite:

- Malkin playing when he shouldn't have been

- Crosby two handing Z and getting away with it

- Playing with 6 guys on the ice

- Kunitz cross checking Franzen in the head

- Ozzie not having his best game

- Weak penalties being called on the Wings

We STILL had a chance to win. If we're better on the PK, we win the game despite all that crap.

Besides, dating back to 2003, the winner of Game 3 in the SCF, went on to lose the series.

Honestly, I told my dad before the game that if Pittsburgh was going to win one, it was going to be last night.

They were going back to home ice & home crowd. And they won. Did anybody really expect us to sweep them? I certainly didn't.

I'm not upset over the loss. I'm not upset with the way our team played. I just want to go out in game 4 and win.

I imagined the Wings would likely lose at least one of the two games in Pittsburgh for 3/4. The problem was evident from the 2nd period and on. The boys looked tired and lackadaisical. They had no legs at all and the Penguins exploited it. Which puts further emphasis on taking advantage of opportunities. Wings had several chances during those two periods, good chances that is, and didn't capitalize. The refs horribly f***ed up that situation with 6 Penguin skaters + Fleury on the ice, and another call which seems to escape me right now that preceded a Penguins goal. Nonetheless the Wings allowed those 3 goals (not counting the empty net) either because of Penguins luck or because they were too tired/lazy. This is a game the Wings should lose to learn their lesson. Hopefully they come out for Game 4 with a lot more intensity and legs.

I'm not terribly worried. In the Ducks series (for the most part) and in the Chicago series (definitely), the Wings came back strong after a rough game (resulting in a loss) to take the next one.

Also, you can't help but smile when you hear Dats will likely be back, if not for Game 4, then for Game 5. I also think we'll see better control in our own end, especially off the face-off in our own zone when Draper comes back. We missed him sorely (at least I did every time we lost a face-off in our own zone and I threw my hat at the TV).

Game 4 should be ours, provided the refs can find their whistles (hint: they're the shiny metal objects in your hands; blow on them to make noise :P ).
