With reports of Draper being healthy, how can they keep him out of the lineup. Leino has done very well in the role that has been asked of him. We need Draper's experience, face off skills, and most importantly his defense. Put him in, coach!

I agree, and I'm guessing Draps will play. I think this is just gamesmanship. It forces Pit to prepare for both Leino and Draps, although I could see Malts sitting instead, (as much as that hurts to say). It has to be hard to pick someone to sit, when whoever you pick could likely be a first liner on at least half the other teams in the league, not including the fact that your best forward is already out (this is not intended to start another Dats - Z debate, IMO they are equally as important for all intents and purposes).

Moving on...

To get Cindy and Sloth, I mean Gomer, I mean Gena.. Gino.. Evgeni, the ice time the Pens so desprately need them to have, they are going to end up facing Z a bunch anyway, but since Babcock doesn't play the match up game the way most coaches do on the road, whom do people think will the Pens try to put Cry-sby out against?

Hmmm...EJ update on NHL Live per Babcock - outside possibility Dats plays for game 4. Said he's definitely having trouble, but they did get 'some positive news' medically on him, for whatever that's worth. Sammy is sick so Drapes would play instead.

Red Wings shouldn't be able to win this one but weirder things have happend........

Why "shouldn't" the Wings be able to win this one? Unless this is a flame-baiting post, explain to me why the Wings shouldn't be able to win this one?

I heard the same thing, but Sammy would be playing if he feels better. If he isn't though, then Drapes is in just as you said. Gotta wonder how sick he is, and if he has the flu or something. It would surprise me if he woke up feeling good enough to play after missing the skate earlier.

Hossa is going to come out and have a big game even if he doesn't score. He will finish his hits and play very well defensively. I see him tonight with 1 G and 1 A. Wings win 6-3 and grab the 3-0 series lead.

You are right, that post was written of ignorance. The Wings can win this one, but they are going to have to play their collective asses off for it.

The Pens know if they lose this game then they will almost certainly lose the series. They will come out with all guns blazing for this game. Just like in other games when a team could go up 3-0, they really had to battle to win them. Seems like the team with their back against the wall plays with more desperation than the team that is up 2-0. Last year in the finals the Wings were outhustled and beat by the Pens in game 3, but it was Crosby and Hossa who took the team on their backs for that game. Will Crosby and Malkin do the same this year?

Detroit has a great opportunity in front of them, but it depends on how they play.

Its not game 4 yet. Hossa does his big scoring in game 4, remember? :D

I think its going to be a 3-2 game. Pens get some goals and pressure, but Fleury flops on one shot that proves to be the winner. I wish it was going to be a 3 goal difference with Detroit being in the drivers seat. I just don't see that happening though. If its a 3 goal difference, I see it going to the Pens for playing desperate and the Wings for sitting back and just going through the motions.

The only way the Wings win this game is if they match the intensity. Games like that usually yield only a 1-2 goal difference in the end.

Hudler is back up on Zetterberg's line. Perhaps they're anticipating not nearly as much Crosby time for that line and thus a defensive droppoff from Cleary to Hudler is palatable. The fourth and second lines remain intact. The new third line with Draper and Cleary on the wings is a pretty good checking unit if they're out for much time against Malkin or Crosby.

[/i]

I think that Babcock should just roll his four lines with the occasional double shifting of the Z line and the Fil line. Make Danny worry about the match up. Every line has two strong defenders and at least one player with offensive ability. Make the Pens over think things and just play Red Wing hockey!

edit: apparently I missed a post with the exact same info already in it. Boy am I retarded! Well, lets win anyways!

I am still confident the Wings can win, but that thread about the NHL being "unhappy" with the reffing in the first 2 games worries me... They can't be unhappy with the way the games were played unless they are unhappy with the results, right? <_<

Wings - 3 (Hossa, Zetterberg, Filppula) (Homer gets 1 called back for old times' sake :D)

Pens - 2

Go Ozzie!!! Sock it to The Man tonight, Wings!

The true question of the day is if you were Babcock and had Datsyuk hurt this whole time and he was coming back would you tell the Media? I would tell them hell no he's not playing then insert him into the lineup to screw with Pittsburghs game plan.

I know Datsyuk isn't going to play tonight but, it would be a great move when/if he comes back this series.

My personal opinions

#1 Wings are way more banged up, now add samuelsson to the mix.

#2 Home ice-advantage, never underestimate that.

#3 Pens got the last change, meaning crosby will get away from Zetterberg alot more meaning more goals for pittsburgh.

#4 Pens will be more desperate because being down 3-0 would mean no cup.

+ alot of other things....

Then say that in your initial post so it doesn't come off as baiting.

Thanks for clarifying.

While I thought we had no way to beat Chicago in game 5 we pulled it off, I feel similar to tonight's game in that I don't expect a victory, but could easily see something amazing being pulled off. No way in hell the league is going to let the Pittsburgh Crosby's down 0-3 in a series. Barring a magnificent game by multiple Wings including Ozzie Wings lose tonight. I expect at least 6 PPs for Pitt and likely early, thankfully unlike the Wings who've done the opposite, the Pens have shown no real ability to hold down a lead.
