Broken 16 381 Report post Posted June 6, 2009 I think holding Datsyuk back this long is gonnna prove to be a wise move. I expect a nearly healthy Datsyuk when he comes back. That's gonna be like a nuclear missile into the Pens game plan. I think that Babcock and co. are holding out till the last possible moment to bring Datsyuk back. b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted June 6, 2009 I hope you're right, but I don't think so. The Wings will win if they play like they are capable, something we have rarely seen this whole playoff run. If the Red Wings, play to potential, starting with the big guns of Hossa, Franzen, Rafalski, and now Datsyuk, all the way down the lineup, Wings win easy. They honestly haven't come out swinging in a single playoff game this spring, and between slow starts and stretches where the look uninterested, they have played very few, if any, complete games. If the Red Wings respond to the wake up call of Game 4, and round into form, Wings in 6, otherwise, I don't like their chances. Your best players have to play like it, we haven't seen that out of anyone but Zetterberg.... yet.

Wings4Life19 150 Report post Posted June 6, 2009 u gotta believe babcock and the team are furious with the way they played in game 4. to me this feels like when the wings had those 2 games this season when they let 8 goals in. if you thought the wings came out mad after those games just wait till tonight, i have a feeling this will be a very furious and determined team, i expect to see the best game by the wings in these playoffs in game

ifonlyicouldskate 11 Report post Posted June 6, 2009 He has fresh legs, which is exactly what the Wings need right now. I hope his foot doesn't hold him back. Fresh legs and bad foot. But hopefully give us that added spark and defensive play that we need. If he lit the lamp would be all bonus at this point. Don't forget we "the fans" our sixth man on the ice tonight all game. :beerbuddy:

dicksmack 33 Report post Posted June 6, 2009 You rarely see a player come back from a moderately severe injury and take a playoff game over. Due to the intensity level, most times they do ok or are kinda invisible. Once they get their legs and timing back, they usually return to form. Well Pav doesn't have that luxury so it's a good thing he's a rare player. Actually, I'm hoping his presence galvanizes the team's identity as champs and the Wings return to Red Machine form. Nobody can beat us when we are on our game and confident.

I sure don't want them to be only the second team to lose a series after winning the first two games of the finals.

First time I read this post, I thought, "C'mon man, don't idolize like this" Games over now, and well, you were more right than I could have predicted Datsyuk didn't score. He had I believe one assist, but his play was all about control, control, control. Anyone else notice the nearly 1 minute span where Dats and Zett just played with the puck to the right of the net. Pittsburgh simply couldn't touch it.
