From Ed Moran at the Philadelphia Daily News:

His name is Ray Emery.

The Flyers and Emery have come to terms on a deal that reportedly will pay him $1.5 million for 1 year. The deal can’t be signed until July 1, when free agency starts. But the team is expected to announce the deal sooner.

It means the end of Biron’s time as a Flyer, and another player - a goalie - the Flyers are going to take a chance on.

Like Emery, every one of those other goalies was supposed to deliver the Flyers back to the “Promised Land,†but they were all big parts of teams that didn’t get there.

WOW

Emery is a decent goalie, but he has a MASSIVE ego. Maybe playing in the KHL taught him something?

Edit: Didnt Emery and Biron get in a fight back when Emery played for the sens and Biron played for the sabres a few years back? Should be an interesting year in philly to say the least.

Just when I was thinking that the NHL was lacking in goalie fights!

Could be a good goalie, if he can control his emotions and temper. Dumb to get rid of Biron, though. He's solid. Ray's a risk and a potential bust, if he can't get his act together.

But he's a perfect fit for the Phillie thug-life, that's for sure. Good luck, Ray. Hope the Russian mafia doesn't follow you home.

Well, at least they might get a good backup/future replacement for.. Emery.

Minnesota has targeted four teams - the Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings and the Philadelphia Flyers - to try and trade backup goalie Josh Harding, who had a 2.21 goals-against average and .929 save percentage in 19 games in the 2008-09 season.

The 2002 second-round draft pick played for Rob Daum when he coached the Wild's AHL farm club in Houston, should they need a scouting report.

The Wild will try to get a second-line forward back for Harding, who turns 25 on June 18.

Is he signed to play goal? Or goon on the right wing with Briere and Carter?

** Note to Philly equipment guy - Ray likes to pick out his own headwear before, during, and after the games.

** Note to Senators - Ray Ray is a comin' across the red and both blue lines to start throwing knuckles at whoever is on the ice in a Sens jersey at the first game in Ottawa.

** Note to Andrew Peters - watch your back *****.
