ltgator333 3 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Hopefully he goes to some eastern conference basement dweller so he can continue to suck and I don't have to look at it. Hey why not the Islanders?? They kept POS Yashin and even made the turd their captain!

kylee 727 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Heatley is one elite scorer but who is going to take on his contract? it obviously wont be the Red Wings.. not much of a team player if he signs a big extention then one year removed he wants to jump ship...
tommingthepuck96 1 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Heatley is my second fav player only to filppula. I always thought it was weird because heately's 15 and Val's 51. I would love to see them both on the same line, but wings could never sign heatley. I can see him going to the oilers, or like someone else said maybe the ducks. I'd like to see him end up in L.A though.
Opie 308 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) The Ducks are already at 37 mil with Pronger, Whitney, and you and me and GS&T on Defense. OK all bad jokes aside, they are in bad need of D not O! EDIT: Big Wis is gonna get paid, and I think that cap number is without Brown's extension. Edited June 9, 2009 by Opie
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Totally didn't see this coming.... Very sad news the Sens are my clear-cut 2nd favourite team, and Heatley is a top 5 favourite player bah, I hope they get some mad return No way the Sens are trading him to the Leafs I've seen some fans throw out the idea of Malkin for Heatley ++ ..... Crosby + Heatley would wreak havoc, hello 65 goal Heatley.... long shot of course
cirov19 1 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Toronto should go for him. That's what they need.
xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 I've seen some fans throw out the idea of Malkin for Heatley ++ ..... Crosby + Heatley would wreak havoc, hello 65 goal Heatley.... long shot of course And then both of Pittsburgh's stars are on the same line. Something tells me that Ottawa would get the better end of that deal.

tommingthepuck96 1 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) I think it's weird because they're such different players. Odd little comment there, but to add to that, heatley's also about 10 years older than filppula also heatley's from canada and filppula is from finland. Didnt know one's favorite players must all be alike. Edited June 9, 2009 by tommingthepuck96
mjlegend 155 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 To Minny for Mikko Koivu, Josh Harding and a pick, Sens to push hard to sign Saku Koivu on July 1.

They kept POS Yashin and even made the turd their captain! Heatley has a no-movement clause and essentially controls where he goes. It won't be to a bottom-feeder. Presumably, that's why he's getting out of Ottawa.

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Then that definitely rules out Toronto... they suck worse than Ottawa So we're going to split hairs over 2 points in the standings? But it's not like the Leafs & Sens are ever going to trade with each other in the first place. I would say the Leafs are in better shape for the future than Ottawa is. If Murray can get his stars to waive their NTCs, he'll have tonnes of tradeable assets to boot. exactly how does this make the Leafs in better shape?

Yeah, I said the future, because the current Ottawa team is just as bad as the Leafs, despite their obvious front-end talent. Alfredsson is old and won't be traded. That leaves Spezza. Other than those guys, the Sens really don't have anything. Edited June 10, 2009 by MacK_Attack

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 If Ottawa wants big names in return, and forgoes rebuilding... To Ott: Marleau, Cheechoo (9.3M) To SJS: Heatley, Fisher (11.7M) San Jose gets the better of the superstars, but Ottawa gets the better of the contracts. Probably needs some balancing. Superstar for superstar, overpaid grinder for overpaid grinder. I could see Ottawa thinking they could get Cheechoo going again, alongside Spezza, and I could see San Jose having interest in Fisher because of their playoff woes. Fisher is definitely one of those guys that plays the game with a lot of energy and heart. Hes overpaid, but he brings a lot to the table, and could be a good insurance policy in case Pavelski regresses. If Ottawa wants a rebuild: To STL: Heatley To OTT: One of Backes, Oshie, Perron, or Berglund (man, STL has ridiculous young forward talent), plus some balancers (picks or prospects). I could see Heatley being interested in both teams.

I doubt Minnesota would trade Koivu - hes their guy - but Harding, a pick, and a young forward makes a lot of sense, especially considering Minny is about to lose Gaborik, Harding is on the trading block, and Ottawa needs a goalie (although maybe theyre content with Elliot?)
