stevie12 5 Report post Posted June 25, 2009 I'm not 100% with this but a member of the Griffins had spoken with a good friend of mine yesterday and seemed pretty estatic of the opportunity to get a chance to play with Dany Heatley. Ken Holland could have something up his sleeve. Many different combo's that could happen to shed cap space seeing how we would be dumping Hossa. Let's see how it pans out. Again this was from a really good friend of mine so take it for what its worth.
RedFX 48 Report post Posted June 25, 2009 1. It would take ALOT more than dumping Hossa to get Heatley. 2. Hossa > Heatley 3. Hossa $ < Heatley $

T.OWingsFan 7 Report post Posted June 25, 2009 Fact is we're looking for a goal scorer to play with our numerous playmakers. Hossa did 40 goals worth of it during the season, but only 6 when it mattered most. Could be all the pressure, but hey, it ain't easy in the playoffs and Detroit is a playoff team. Heatley is as good a goal scorer in his days but the problem is, he's seems like an *******. Marian is by all accounts a top fellow but dissapears at times. Pros and cons. The Sens would have to eat some of his salary and I doubt Murray is gonna be doing that. Not gonna happen. Hossa is an easier-cheaper option and one which won't destroy dressing room chemistry. What a small world. I know that clerk you're talking about. Very reliable source indeed.
CenterIce 83 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Pros and cons. The Sens would have to eat some of his salary and I doubt Murray is gonna be doing that. This is not allowed. It is what Brian Burke was asking for when he was in Anaheim, but there is no "dead" money allowed in the NHL CBA.
joshy207 156 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Which guy would you trade for Heatley... Datsyuk or Zetterberg? Because that's the only way Heatley would end up in Detroit.

pockets 9 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Give me Hossa over Heatley IMO if im the Sens GM and Detroit came knocking id ask for their 1st round pick, The Mule (fairly low cap hit for a 30g guy), Helm, Big E (both have proven they are NHL ready and they are cheap) and McCollum or Larsson (seeing as Ott has no goalies)

Guest ZetterbergFourty Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Forget Heatley. He should be in jail IMO and he's got the nerve go around whining about where he plays? I wouldnt be too picky if I were him.
