Recommended Posts

The Detroit Red Wings will hold their annual "summer development camp" at Joe Louis Arena from July 6-12, and they've released a roster of participants, which include 18 prospects and, thus far, no free agent invitees:

36 Jordan Pearce G 38 Thomas McCollum G 47 Mitchell Callahan F 49 Brian Lashoff D 50 Brendan Smith D 54 Gleason Fournier D 56 Bryan Rufenach D 57 Max Nicastro D 59 Nick Oslund F 60 Nick Jensen D 61 Landon Ferraro F 62 Brent Raedeke F 63 Jesper Samuelsson F 64 Gustav Nyquist F 65 Julien Cayer F 67 Tomas Tatar 68 Andrej Nestrasil 71 Stephen Johnston

Give Mitchel Callahan his number 24 back <_<

This roster is labeled 'provisional' for a reason. Not a single free agent invite. The Wings are keen doing what they did last year and inviting some undrafted kids (Nill calls it 'bonus picks').

The word provisional wasnt actually mentioned...I just added it in to the mix cos Im awesome like that and to make it clear to the many members of LGW.

And I have very high hopes for Stephen Johnston.

Actually me too, but props to you for being the first to drop his name. You can officially call him "your prospect." I think we still have 10 people fighting over the right to call Ritola their prospect.

From what I remember, some weeks he looks like a future power forward, other weeks he looks like a third line center. Last year he quadrupled his point totals but apparently that wasn't enough to get him within the top 20. Baby Matthias is one of his nicknames. Pretty good outlook.

Hey man. The wound's still fresh for some of us. No need to salt it.

I have no idea what he was talking about, the NHL was in another lock out last season. Can't wait to see hockey again in the fall....
