wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted July 3, 2009 So you're saying the BJ's would be better without Nash in his prime? No, I think he's saying if Nash wants out, he won't be able to get out of Columbus.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted July 3, 2009 So you're saying the BJ's would be better without Nash in his prime? Nash without a quality set-up guy (e.g getzlaf) is nothing.

skyphoenix 153 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Nash could be the greatest player ever (obviously hes not) but it isnt going to matter if the team cant afford any support players.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 That's a lot of money. Not surprised he signed there, they have a pretty good thing going. Just need a few more pieces and they could get a cup.

I agree - Columbus is still 9.5M under the cap. If Mason continues to play the way he did and they can add a few more key players they will be in good shape. MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Nash could be the greatest player ever (obviously hes not) but it isnt going to matter if the team cant afford any support players. They have all kinds of cap space.....plus Nash is playing this upcoming season under his current contract.
BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Wow, guess all those rumors saying Nash HATED playing in Columbus were true, eh? That's kinda funny since I live just west of Columbus and yet I've not heard anything like that. What I have heard (from some really decent sources) is that he LOVES playing in the city and he did not want to leave as things are right now.
Canadian_Yzerman_Fan 7 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 I think it's a really good contract for both him and the blue jackets organization. They have a lot of potential to grow. They have some alright depth guys already and a lot of free cap space. This team is gonna get a lot better before they start getting worse.
shoe 165 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Nice to see some team loyalty, Danny Heatly could learn alot for young mr Nash. Good on Columbus thats the way you do it dont even let the guy get to free agency and you have nothing to worry about.

They really aren't that far from making a deep play-off run.
BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Same here......Nash loves C-bus. They really aren't that far from making a deep play-off run. I think they could have last year, but they ran into the Wings. Imagine if they had played San Jose or Vancouver in the first round? They may not have won, but it certainly would not have been a sweep. They need one more player to be a serious player in the Central this year. Something tells me they arent' done yet.
