VladyIBELIEVE16 257 Report post Posted July 16, 2009 Vladi - I'm with you there... It rips my heart out every time I read an article describing the accident and remembering the reports on tv. I will never forget seeing him play in person. His hits were huge and it was another thing to see them happen in person. Great article.

servo 15 Report post Posted July 16, 2009 Everytime I think back to that event I get so angry at the driver. I remember I was doing my neurology rotation at Beaumont. I was in the ICU doing a consult and I saw Vladdy in one of the ICU bays. I felt like it was one of my family members. It is a crushing memory. I feel so sad for him and his family!! RedFX 48 Report post Posted July 16, 2009 I was 7 when the accident happened, so I never really got to appreciate Vladdy's play first hand. But everytime I read something about him, I always hear how he was always a step ahead of Lidstrom in his development, and was compared to a Scott Stevens type defenseman. I read that and I think about where the Wings and Vladdy might be today if the accident never happened. It makes me sad to think we'll never get a chance to see how great he could have been.
