Guest Shoreline Report post Posted August 11, 2009 (edited) The season still hasn't started yet though, so... Must be the NHL 09 ratings. It's all theoretical with these people anyways. Substance? Not a chance in hell. Edited August 11, 2009 by Shoreline
Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2009 This thread is almost as soft as the 2009/2010 Detroit Red Wings! Almost as soft as your will power. Cause I know you will still be watching them.

Please find the quote anywhere on these forum threads where I said that you would quit watching the Detroit Red Wings. My point was for you making fun of such a team and hating such a style, you are still going to watch.

titanium2 867 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 After 21 pages, I still think we need a goon. Sign McGrattan, Kenny. Maybe Bell will still get an invite to camp and the force Detroit to trade Williams. Not that unfathomable.

GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 Kronwall has been challenged before after big hits, and just skates away, Hudler always used to act tough, much like Sammy, and skated away. Homer dives all the time. Also, now Williams is part of the mold, and I remember him acting like a punk on numerous occasions. Lebda is another one. There's plenty of divers and timid players on this team which piss me off. I'm not saying that star players should fight, but if they're going to start acting tough, they may as well go through with it instead of turtling and backing down. I hate it when Wings players do that. Kronwall shouldn't have to answer for big hits. That's part of the game.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) How about signing this guy? http://media.photobucket.com/image/scott%2.../images.jpg?o=1 Edited August 13, 2009 by GMRwings1983
e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 How about signing this guy? http://media.photobucket.com/image/scott%2.../images.jpg?o=1 The Sheriff - 6'5" 240lbs. I like his look. Doesn't seem to put up with a lot of sh!t... but if Kenny were to sign the guy, he'd have to report to and primarily play for an AHL team... which he has seemingly had trouble doing in the past. From Wiki: On October 17, 2008, Parker was assigned to Colorado's affiliate the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL.[4] In a rare conflict between the team and one of its own players, the Avalanche terminated Parker's contract on November 9, 2008 for insubordination for not reporting to the Monsters.[5] ...maybe he just really didn't want to play for the 'lanche. Guest micah Report post Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) My point was for you making fun of such a team and hating such a style, you are still going to watch. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 Coulda swore I saw this guy on tv - busted for selling meth at a truck stop. Just based on that picture alone, I'm convinced we should sign him. Talk about having the anti-Jason Williams look.
Guest micah Report post Posted August 14, 2009 Kronwall shouldn't have to answer for big hits. That's part of the game. Do you ever remember a time when guys who threw their bodies around weren't expected to answer for big hits? How does Gordie Howe state that he responded to big hits? King Roy is by far the best player on the list, so I'm surprised he hasn't been signed yet. I like both Fritz and King, but even if we didn't sign anybody this offseason, Holland still wouldn't go after players like that.

King DJ King is signed with St. Louis and besides him Andre Roy is the only other NHL caliber player but he's also a head case and probably wouldn't fit in here Parker retired Fritz and Peters can't skate or play, Boulerice is marginally better McCarty and Downey we've seen enough of to know what they provide
Holmstrom96 347 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 If we needed a goon we would have picked up free agent like Bertuzzi or something; which we would never do that again.

It's good to have another pro-enforcer poster on our side. Believe me, we can use all the help we can get on this site trying to convince people that having toughness in the lineup is actually a good thing. Hope you have better luck than the rest of us do.
