So here is a quick question - If the IOC states that the Hockey Canada symbol can't be present on the jersey, why is there still a Hockey Canada symbol on the right elbow?

Either A) The rule just means that it can't be the PRIMARY logo

or B) These are fakes.

I am inclined the think the prior scenario is correct, but can anyone clarify the rule?

As I read the rule, it seems to me that the wording states it can't be used as the primary crest on the jersey.

Those are pretty cool. I wonder if USA is going to do anything Unique with their jerseys for the Olympics. I also can't wait to see my jersey for my up-coming Sled Hockey season with USA Hockey.

I like those but I'll be DAMNED as a red blooded American if I'd ever get caught wearing one. The Olympics are the one time I become a national chauvanist. The hell with the rest of the world. After watching Brian Williams all those years almost fall down laughing when a USA athlete didn't win a medal I've kinda sorta built up a healthy dislike of some in the Canadian Olympic story. The Canadian women making up crap about the USA gals using a Canadian jersey as a footmat really po'd me. Don Cherry helping sell it made me mad. The loonie buried in OUR ice in Salt Lake City tells me what little smarmy weasels some Canadians can be.

Before you hop on me I come from Canadian lineage. My grandfather was in the RCMP in the 1910's-1920's in Regina. He was a real Dudley Do-Right.

This. I have no beef with Canada, but come Olympics, I am strictly red, white, and blue. I'm pretty sure I want an Olympic gold over a Cup any day.

what will USA's look like since they cant use "USA hockey logo"?

IIRC, the stylized "USA" that we've used in the recent past is only considered an element of the USA Hockey logo and is not considered in violation of the IOC rules, whereas the Canadian jersey effectively used "the" Hockey Canada logo.

I think the new Canadian design is pretty cool. I also collect Scout patches and they're using a technique on the interior of the maple leaf known as "ghosting". That's where you use a single color thread but change the direction of the stitching such as to change the way the thread reflects light to create internal designs that only appear when seen in bright light or when viewed from a slight angle. If the light is flat or dim, the "ghost" designs are "invisible"

From what I have heard, this style of jersey (with the special crest) is going to be exclusive to the 2010 Games only. I haven't heard if the same jersey, without the special crest, will be debuted at the U20 WJC.

Overall not bad, but I wish the design inside the leaf was fully native. With the moose and the beavers and hockey sticks and all that crap blended in with it it makes it look really hokey and...fake, it's like one of those fake Canada hockey jerseys you can find at souvenier shops on Gastown. Thankfully it's pretty subtle so you can't see it well unless you're up close.

I'm gonna pass on these. Although it's considered bad luck I like my '02 black 3rd with the old-style maple leaf a lot better. Should have gone with the 72 throwback jersey from the WJC, it's a no-brainer. Ah well.
