The Mule 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2009 Too lazy to read the whole thread. Would anyone who caught the game care to give me a quick rundown on how everyone looked? I'm glad we won, but I'd like to know how our players played individually.
WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted September 17, 2009 Too lazy to read the whole thread. Would anyone who caught the game care to give me a quick rundown on how everyone looked? I'm glad we won, but I'd like to know how our players played individually. Datsyuk looked great. Abdelkader was all over the place. Lidstrom was solid as per usual. Ericsson played a nice game. Jeremy Williams played well. So did Daniel Larsson. I thought Newbury was physical but not a strong skater. After the game, I was walking behind Pronger. He is MASSIVE. Johnny Law 15 Report post Posted September 17, 2009 Philadelphia sucks. My career someday may take me in that general direction. God I hope I end up in DC instead, as far as hockey towns go. Philadelphia is a great hockey town, light years better then DC. Lots of knowledgeable fans that support their team through thick and thin. Support for hockey from the professional level to beer leagues is pretty impressive, in a 25 mile radius I know of more than 30 rinks each with youth and adult leagues. There are alot of people playing hockey in the Philly area. The ECHL team in Reading is always one of the leagues attendance leaders even when the team is the suck. Hershey is probably the most successful minor league team in the AHL, their stadium seats 15,000 and they do fill it on some nights. http://blog.pennlive.com/fanbox/2009/03/be...o_break_ho.html The whole philly fan thing is way overplayed. I've gone to lots of flyers, eagles and phillies games and for the vast majority of the time they are respectful and pleasant. Even after my beloved bears drove the ball 97 yards in minute to beat the Eagles, nothing was said, no one gave me a hard time. I'm normally not a fan of bolder type moves but I'd love to see Larsson back up Ozzie.

If your ever in the area hit me up and I'll send you some Flyers tickets, rest assured you'll come home with a much different opinion. And last but not least, philly has been ranked #1 as the city where the ugliest people in the U.S lives. This however, is true, 50% of the place is undateable by anyone. HadThomasVokounOnFortSt 878 Report post Posted September 17, 2009 Don't laugh because this probably is a stupid question but are pre season games on FSD? I am asking so I can stream them from the computer.

Per Mlive: Fox Sports Detroit is televising three preseason games: Saturday vs. Buffalo, 7 p.m.; Sept. 25 vs. Toronto, 7:30 p.m.; and Sept. 27 vs. Pittsburgh, 5 p.m.

Blame TSN's Canadian bias. If there isn't Canadian content they'll only begrudgingly cover it.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted September 17, 2009 Will those games be streamed online? Won't know until game time. All of the games besides the next Philly game will be televised on some network, so there's a good chance all of the remaining preseason games besides one will find their way online. With the exception of the Sweden game, which is not being covered by any American station but hopefully by a Swedish one and streamed somewhere.
