Tonight's Player in focus: Francis Pare
(Absolutely no rhyme or reason behind this!) Pare put up an impressive 24 goals and 48 points in his rookie AHL season, enough to get him a contract with Detroit. His play to start this season however has been underwhelming with zero goals and 3 points in 9 games. He did look good against Chicago though picking up an assist.

The Grand Rapids Griffins finally take to the road as they visit the Lake Erie Monsters. They will face Lake Erie again on the 11th back at home. Last years captain Darren Haydar is the Monsters main man as he leads their team in scoring with 4 goals and 10 points. The Griffins are on a six game winning streak while Lake Erie have dropped their past 2 games. The Griffins will be looking to improve on their 1-4 W/L record away from home.
The Griffins have recorded 6 straight wins, all at home, and will be full of confidence heading into this evening's game. Cory Emmerton has been impressive of late and is on a 3 game point streak (2-2-4). Evan McGrath meanwhile has registered a point in 6 of the past 7 games as he stakes a claim to be called up by Detroit. Kris Newbury is also on a 4 game point streak. McCollum is expected to start tonight.
