11/21 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Canadiens 2 (SO)

Wings win it 3-2 after going to the Skills Compet... err, shootout after blowing a 2 goal lead in the wee seconds in the 4rd. Jimmy Howard gets the win and the Wings go 11-6-4 in the season, 26 points in their back pocket.

Don`t wanna bother looking through the GDT... anyone else blame that 2nd goal on Lebda for not expecting Lidstrom`s pass?

All in all... Howard still looks like a backup, played decent just not as good as I`d have liked.

Twas weird. The commentator mentioned it was one of Lids' few mistakes.

But I am positive that Lebda being the other D played a large role...

He's right. No one on the ice right now is a match for Laroque and he knows it.

I just backed off watching this game after the first period and just finished watching the first half of the Longhorn's game to calm down.

But I still think it wouldn't matter if May or Whoever had been out there. In movies, like Westerns - it usually happens that there's somebody who shows up to take out the bad guy.

I know this has been brought up ad nauseum on this board, but how many times has that really happened during hockey games? In real time? I mean, where somebody who was hurt was really avenged during the 60 minutes of the game? Not nearly enough, I'm thinking. I wish to god it did, but it doesn't.

And if Cherry was surprised that Larague did what he did - and other posters here have said the same thing - maybe he didn't do it even partly because he knew there would not be retaliation. Maybe it was just a really dumbass move on his part. Our TV guys said he had just come back from rehab (?), was in a fight last night and did not do well. Maybe that was why he went crazy.

That's it for now. But the Wings won this game and I AM SO DAMN PROUD OF THEM.

Now, I'm gonna go back and watch it after the Horn's game to see why Cleary and Helm didn't have helmets on on the ice. <_<

Don't waste your time and energy on that one. I'd rather sacrifice Brett Lebda to the Hockey Gods for Kronwall's health.

Thanks for the wise advice. I literally backed off and watched a football game. :lookaround:

Babcock just said "We'll wait until our doctors look at it, but it's NOT PRETTY."

based on doctor's report, I smell a suspension.

Injuries are rampaging in NHL and something must be done.

Swine flu makes things only worse...
