MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Pretty damn good up front. Defense is clearly their weakest link, but it's still pretty good.
Kira 451 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 If that's the case, I think I'd have to put my money on Pasha and friends. No offense to Stevie Y, God knows I love and respect him, but this is a considerable fence to breach.
tommingthepuck96 1 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Only suprise for me is frolov i thought for sure he'd be there. Maybe its because hes kinda having an off year, or maybe i just don't know anything about those KHL guys.
Carman 387 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 This looks to be one of the better teams they have put together in a long time. Top forwards are just amazing, defense is very solid, and goal tending has the ability to steal games. Should be a team to fear in the Olympics.
Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 On paper it's gonna be Canada + Russia. Not only on paper, as their coaching is world class as well. Unlike USA, that has good names on paper, but coaching and playing style sucks. Finland is the opposite of that.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Team Russia's obsession with the clearly inferior Kozlov never ceases to amaze me. I guess our Koz is too old now, but they pulled they same stunt at the Olympics in Torino. Tsk tsk! Anyways, nice looking group. I wonder how they'll share Ovechkin and Kovalchuk between Malkin and Pavel?
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Where's the great Oleg Kvasha? Seriously, though, Zubov and Frolov must have declined the chance to play or something. I don't know what happened with Kovalev. He's had an off year, but he can't be any worse than some of these KHL players I've never heard of?
Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Where's the great Oleg Kvasha? Seriously, though, Zubov and Frolov must have declined the chance to play or something. I don't know what happened with Kovalev. He's had an off year, but he can't be any worse than some of these KHL players I've never heard of? He can. KHL is a good league. An many of these players are NHL calibre. And the main reason they are there, are because they are real role players. Bykov knows these guys and always knows what to expect from them. You can't put Kovalev in a checking line.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Offense EXTREMEUBERELITEEEEEEEE... defense is kinda weak to be honest, but their two main goalies, nabokov and bryzgalov are like the best goalies in the nhl after miller and brodeur...

The whole team is full of soft Euros. And Finland's goalies are the best after Canada!
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Their offence is great, but the amount of KHLers and inferior defence doesnt scare me. Sweden and Canada look to be stronger, Russia will be there, but I just dont believe in the KHL or it's players.

Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 I don't think so, Finns. LOL. I'm sorry. I really totally forgot about Miller. Somehow tought he's Canadian. But anyways, competing for the number one goalie country are Finland and Canada.

Guest mindfly Report post Posted December 25, 2009 (edited) LOL. I'm sorry. I really totally forgot about Miller. Somehow tought he's Canadian. But anyways, competing for the number one goalie country are Finland and Canada. Miller Brodeur Nabokov >< Kiprusoff Lundqvist Bryzgalov And by the way for all who don't know much about KHL, Most of the KHL'ers on this olympic squad would be star players in NHL if they would adapt to the lifestyle and heads up play. Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Miller Brodeur Nabokov >< Kiprusoff Lundqvist Bryzgalov Didn't totally get the meaning of this. Goaltending country means more than just one good number one goaltender in the Olympics. Tellqvist plays in Finnish SM-liiga.
