Best Bang for Your Buck - DRW Edition

So I was thinking back to 2008 when the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup, and I remembered how the teams salary was only 48.3 million dollars. Players like Zetterberg, (2.65) Franzen, (.950) and Filppula (.733) all had cap hits that one might call a "steal".

So my question is, for the 2009/2010 season, which Red Wing do you think has the best cap hit / actual skill ratio? Howard? Bertuzzi? I'm not so sure.

Bertuzzi, Howard, Eaves. May and Miller for 500k each isnt bad either.

Bert for $1.5 mill is a pretty good deal. Or Howard, like you mentioned. If he becomes the starter for the rest of the season and playoffs, that's a pretty good deal.

And though his actual skill may not be that high, I'd say Helm for 600k is a good deal too. He plays 16+ minutes a game, kills penalties, hits. And he's re-energized Drapes this year.

But theres no one like Z and Franzen.. Those guys were a steal under their previous contracts.

Yeah he's a good one. I'd say right now Helm is worth roughly 1.5-2 million. He might be able to hit 2-3 on the open market. He's so fast lol. That empty net goal he had was probably the prettiest empty netter i've ever seen!
