Canada has a STACKED TEAM!!! at every Winter Olympics

And yet they've only won gold once since 1952

That was a great game to watch...sad thing is I bet most people here in the USA have no idea it even happened!

Agreed! I was so jacked up last night when they took the 5-3 lead, only to be sick to my stomach when they pissed it away with under 2:50 to go in the third. When they scored the game winner, I was just floored. I wish more Americans realized what just happened last night and just how much of an accomplishment it was.

This is what's going to happen in a little over a month baby!

GO USA!!

Uh, I wouldn't go that far. I'd love nothing more than to see that, but our American team is far inferior to both the Canadians and the Russians. Barring an upset, those will likely be your Gold Medal game finalists.

I haven't been feeling too good which is why I wasn't here to post in this game thread but it was an awesome game and I hope the actual olympics are this exciting. Good for team USA for not completing yet another choke, as well as congrats to The Mule for giving me someone to point and laugh at for the trash talk that backfired. :)

Hockey in the U.S has all the potential of becoming a huge sport maybe not the biggest sport but right up there.. i don't know where they should start but atleast broadcast these games on a bigger channel like cbs/nbc or something so more people can see how exciting it is.

What are you talking about? Taking away air time from great TV shows like the Biggest Loser? That's insane!!!

I hate the media.

Canada has only been sending stacked teams (Professionals) since 1998. Thats only 3 olympics and they won one of them. Nice try though.

Talk about an ultimate high only to have it all taken away. :(

Tying the game with 3 minutes left, are you kidding me? If only the intermission wasn't so long... No doubt if it was a 5 minute overtime Canada would've ended it with all the momentum and jump they had (Almost won it in regulation at the end there). It's too bad Canada didn't finish off the comeback, would've been an absolute classic. Eberle is a damn hero  .

Congrats to the Americans. Can't wait for next year, as the US defends their Gold on home ice against a bitter Canadian squad who is sure to be a favourite again (and will garner lots of support in Buffalo)... and lets not forget the Swedes ;)

Actually Brett Lebda would have been a welcome addition to the teams prior to 98. Like I said before, nice try.

Every other game has been on NHLN so this one should be on it too or it would be WEIRD.

I hate canadians from the bottom of my heart as far as the game of hockey goes, PLEASE U.S WIN THIS ONE FOR US.

Well then go f*** yourself!

a Canadian classic maybe. to the USA fans it was a classic.

I knew someone would bring this up. The Canadian version of last night's game would've been a greater classic, considering they were the ones who rallied to tie the game. Blowing a 2 goal lead with 3 minutes left but still winning in OT is less of I would consider a "classic" ;)

I think anytime you beat an overwhelming favorite in a highly contested game on the world stage it could be considered a "classic" to the victors. If Canada had won in any fashion it may be considered less "classic" because they were expected to win.

I, for one, was never calling Canada an "overwhelming favorite".

Someone should point you to DVDs/tapes of the 1972 Summit Series to see a classic series between two evenly matched teams.
