It's not a fair call when you consider that a Canadian player helped knock him into the goalie.

It'll be unfortunate if that power play is what turned the tide here. It shouldn't have been a call either way.

I'll agree that it was an iffy call given the situation. But I also didn't think he was pushed in.

What the hell is with this dumb eh oh canada go chant? Are they saying eh oh cana-go?

It is so dumb. Pepsi Canada had a contest, make canada's new cheer, a-la, U-S-A!, U-S-A!, etc. and that is what we came up with. I guarentee I will be cheering for Canada, but I promise you I will Not be saying, eh, oh, canada go.

In the replay he was pretty clearly hit from behind, but it also showed that he kind of fell into the goalie and didn't make an effort to get out of the way. The announcers first thought it was going to be on Canada.

Like I said, refs should've let it go both ways.

Obviously the U.S. has problems closing out Canada, but that power play sure didn't help.

I agree with all said above, but after the US favored calls early, I was just waiting for Canada to get some calls their way later in the game..

They let go the hit from behind on McMillan. He was pushed a little by Ellis but his follow through wasn't necessary.

They called Della Rovere for a charge that certainly was not a charge. It goes both ways. I'm sorry but if they can't hold the lead with 5 minutes left I don't feel bad for them. They put up a great effort yet again but they need to learn how to finish a game.

They could very well do that in OT too. It worries me.

I flipped to the Wings game (unfortunately) so they may have already covered this, but please tell me they go to unlimited sudden death OTs for the final game and not a shootout.

I didnt catch that either, but I do believe it's on 20 min OT then shootout...

Had that play happened in the first minute of the game, no one would be talking about it. That call gets made way more often than not. Sure, he was pushed a little, but no only didn't make any effort to avoid the goalie, he seemed to make a little bit of an extra effort to put his shoulder into him, pretty clear cut call if you ask me.

They definately do go to a shootout, just not 100% sure how long the OT is, but probably longer than the normal 5 minutes.

In the Gold Medal game, teams play twenty minutes of sudden-death overtime, followed by a three-man shootout.

# In the group stage, teams play five minutes of four-on-four, sudden-death overtime, followed by a three-man shootout.

# In all playoff games except the Gold Medal game, teams play ten minutes of sudden-death overtime, followed by a three-man shootout.

That's because you're downplaying how much he was pushed.

As I said, obviously it's on the U.S. to close it out, but the refs served up Canada a golden opportunity to mount a comeback. Then the U.S. collapsed.
