Yeah i'm sure osgood would be pumped to face his former team in his former arena, last season against the islanders conklin was in net right?

And... the toronto game this season came to my mind, toronto is WORSE than islanders and still they lost 5-1 or something.... and osgood was in the net... wings usually play s*** against bad teams and good against good teams...it's been like that last season and also this season

Jimmy Howard will make his ninth consecutive start in goal Tuesday for the Detroit Red Wings when they visit the New York Islanders.

Some injury updates:

• Defenseman Jonathan Ericsson (bone bruise in knee on Dec. 14) said he is hoping to return for Thursday's game against Carolina, but that isn't definite.

• Defenseman Niklas Kronwall (sprained MCL on Nov. 21) will have an ultrasound on Tuesday, after which hopes to learn more about why his knee is still bothering him. He hasn't skated since Dec. 20.

• Forward Tomas Holmstrom (hairline fracture in foot on Jan. 6) said he is targeting Jan. 26 vs. Phoenix or the following night in Minnesota for his return.

• Forward Johan Franzen (torn ACL on Oct. 8), who has been practicing with the team for several days, said he continues to feel better. He said he's not sure when he will return but believes it could be before the Olympic break, which starts on Feb. 15.

Source: Mlive. Also, the lines remained the same in practice. EDIT: Didn't see the other thread at the bottom of this page, Sorry mods/admins.

Babcock likes to use Meech on the PP with no Kronwall. Janik is likely out.

Ahh, did you forget that E plays on the PP too? Thats right, you have only been watching hockey for 2 yrs.

Howard to start again? Wow I like Jimmy and all but this is just ridiculous... it's the ISLANDERS for god's sake.

He is 9-5 in his last 14 games. Two of the losses he is shouldered with are 1-0 losses. Thats just insane.

I say ride the guy. He is giving the team a chance to win every night. He should be playing as much as possible.

Why are you throwing personal attacks and getting all defensive? I simply stated that Babcock likes Meech on the PP with Kronwall out. Am I wrong? Meech was called up when Kronner went down. Janik was added when E went down. Ericsson does play the PP, Babcock hasn't been playing him on the PP much, he's been the PK specialist. No reason to get all upset. You need to chill out.

We will see what happens with Meech and Janik. There are plenty of people here that would prefer Janik over Meech.

Personal attacks? You are still wet behind the ears, you will learn... Maybe....

....and there's the fundamental flaw in your logic. LGW's members don't decide the roster, Babcock does. How you 'feel' makes no difference to Babcock and his decision making.

But what bothers me the most is why someone would let an internet message forum get them all strung out? You really do need to take a deep breath and chill out. No need to get all stressed out over nothing...

:siren: Chris Osgood is history in the near Redwings future...Babcock wants to write him off...after the season he will be forced to retire...that's what I think...and this is what will be...LETS GO WINGS !!!!!!!!!!! :siren:

I certainly hope he replaces Lebda... his play has been horrendous...

and as I've said ad nauseum, once Kronwall is back, I hope he replaces Meech... with the way Janik has been playing, along with his style (physical, stay at home D-man) there's no excuse for the d pairings once everyone is healthy to be anything but:

Lidstrom-Rafalski

Kronwall-Stuart

Ericsson-Janik

Yup... Sadly (due to the headaches), Janik has been the next best thing to having Lilja back... Janik has done well...

Janik will probably need to be sent down in order to stay roster space/cap compliant, at least for the duration of the regular season.

What happens when Babcock makes the changes that you don't like? Will you be okay? I don't want to read this in the paper:

"LetsGoWings.com member jumps off bridge and plummets into icy waters over dissatisfied Red Wing's roster changes"

the more Janik plays the way he has, the more I believe he will not clear waivers... If it comes to exposing him to waivers, or Lebda... I really hope the Red Wings brass sees the benefit to keeping Janik (especially since both players are UFA's at years end and Lebda will likely not be back anyway)

Janik's an injury call-up, he's not subject to waivers.

Didn't you hear, White Men Can't Jump... Just let it go already and no, this does not mean I given up the debate. All the foolishness/nonsense is not needed in this thread, therefore I am being the mature one and ending it.
