The only bad thing about this game was Osgood. Sure Stuart and Lebda sucked it up badly on those two goals. But come on, a good goalie makes those key saves. Osgood seems indifferent to the fact that the Wings could miss the play-offs.

ericsson looked pretty out of place when matt bradley had position on him that led a goal that made 1-1. Ericsson looked like a big oaf out there.

It would have been cool if Ozzie had made that save. And you're right when you say a goalie has to make some of those bailout saves, and he didn't. He could have had a better game. It would have been great if he'd had a better game. We might have won if he'd had a better game. But he wasn't in top form and he really could have played better. I'm sure his team mates would agree as well as admitting they could have done better too. But they are as a TEAM playing better and that's the name o' that game, eh?

I agree with you. It bothers me that people are giving our goalie more grief than he is already giving himself at this point. The only decision I would second-guess in hindsight (as someone who has seen the Wings before '96) was not starting Osgood against the Islanders at the end of that last road trip. Hodson also started a few games under Bowman when Vernon was injured and he wasn't given the task of carrying the team alone, much less being allowed to do so with a healthy Osgood.

Martin Brodeur lost to the NYI 0-4 just the other day, if anyone needs some perspective. Wings fans should respect what Osgood brings to the team and stop with the character assassination.

yeah, whatever - more excuses.... I word: points. We need them. Sit Oz for another month, please.
Trollbait.

Matt Bradley has more NHL experience, so it's bound to happen occasionally.

The power play was weak, but despite the letdown of zero points, I thought it was a great game to watch and I thought I saw a lot from the Red Wings that I know can dominate. It's going to be an uphill battle with or without fans weighing in with their opinions, that's why Babcock makes the tough calls and the rest of us are supposed to just support our team. I'm not taking sides against the guy I want to win the Calder, but it's a disservice to the team the way Osgood has been treated. If Babcock has been 'poking' Osgood, he needs to start giving him even chances for the team to gain momentum in front of him as well.

Next 5 games should be very winnable. I'm expecting at least 8 points out of that stretch.
nothing is easy man, 4/5 wins? Thats pretty tough since we haven't really put together any kind of winning streaks this year. I hope your right

I'm not saying there are any free points but with the way Wings are playing right now, Wild (x2), Kings, Coyotes and Preds are underdogs against us. Three of those games are at home too and only Preds have been playing respectably as of late. I'm thinking it's a good opportunity to get on a roll and storm into a playoff position.

ok that I agree with. It's just frustrating to see them play so well as of late and only come out with a point or nothing because of a lackluster effort on a single play. But I guess thats hockey and we'll have to play even better in Minnesota Thursday for any of that to happen. GO WINGS!

It is frustrating but if they keep playing this way the points are bound to come sooner rather than later. That's a big if though, inconsistency has been one of the biggest problems for the team this season. Hopefully they're finally getting it together.

are you drunk? you don't seem to be following this very well.

1. "cr00d" posts this:

2. i post this:

i thought it was pretty clear that i was mocking his retarded statement that ozzie was somehow not to blame but we would have won if howard played...but i threw in a LULZ pic just for good measure.

3. you start telling me how howard would stop 5-hole goals (?)

so in summary: stop posting.

i see a ton of people posting about how horrible he is at stopping the five hole, so its not just me

Glad I didn't get my heart set on a win. This team has yet to win an important game all season, anytime we need a win to move into a playoff spot we lose. I think Ozzy should have had the 2nd, and his bitching to the media is very annoying considering he hasn't earned a right to even be the back up (going off this years #) but he does have a point of needing more games, he alone wasn't at fault for the lose. The team did a great job of keeping to the perimeter for a lot of shots and didn't crash the net. This team is quite frustrating because you can see them trying to break out but they just can't it's one small play after another that ends up costing us. GO WINGS :(

including me, genius.

ok, i'm going to break this down for you in full-on retard-mode since it's apparently necessary:

i was mocking the guy that said it wasn't osgood's fault

which is why it was so puzzling that you replied to my posts to begin with.

please stop making yourself look stupid.

please.

please.

We don't have any more injuries now than anyone else has. At one point in the year we had like 8 or 9 guys out, but now it's less than that.

This team right now is way better on paper than Phoenix, LA or Nashville, yet those teams are playing a lot better than us.

That's why I'm tired of hearing people play the injury angle. When you're in denial, that's when excuses start occuring. Many people here are in denial that their Wings may miss the playoffs, despite having a pretty good roster, even with the injuries. Hence, the excuses start coming in.

Well, by the end of the month we'll have played all those teams, and some other good ones. So we'll see how true that is.

But it's safe to say that if we can't get 4 wins out of the next 6 games, people might have to start dealing with the fact that we might miss the playoffs. The next 6 games are make or break, and I hope the wings realize that and play their asses off.

Just look at it this way, other team's top lines outplay our topline and our second line is more like a third line and our third is more like a fourth lines, and our 4line shouldn't be playing in the nhl, everything is reversed, players play roles they cannot fulfill. There is hardnly any skill anymore it's just hardwork, grit and hustle... you wish that would be enough but in fact it isn't skill always outplays the other things.

Zetterberg + Datsyuk = No magic anymore = Bad for red wings.

Hank and Pav have looked great the last couple of games.. seems like they're starting to find the magic again.

Its just hard to have chemistry when so many people are playing out of position and out of line due to injuries. I think once the Mule, Kronwall and Homer get back the rhythm will start to return. Some nights right now just look like we pulled names out of the hat between Wings and Griffins rosters and plugged them at random.
