So out of all of the new signees we added who do you like the best?

For me, I would have to go with Patrick Eaves. I think he's been doing a great job on the PK and thru 37 games he's posted 6 goals and 7 assist and is a +2. For 500k, thats not bad. Plus, he fought that dicknose Versteeg :D . There's no arguing that Bertuzzi has been big for us (3rd on the team in points) and May too with his timely (more or less) fights, but out of the new signees I would still say Eaves is my favorite.

Eaves. He's awesome and I hope we keep him around.

Honorable mention for Miller.

Ahhh I forgot about Miller  . But I agree, hopefully Eaves will be wearing a Wings sweater in the future

Really, I have a hard time not seeing any of Eaves, Bertuzzi and Miller not being back. Each of them has delivered well above expectations and each look as though they have the drive and attitude to continue to improve under the Red Wings system. Also, considering their cap hits they are extremely effective and are a very significant factor in how well the Wings are currently doing.

Eaves and Bertuzzi. Williams was better than either of these during the time before the injury though. Miller has been decent as well. I really didn't expect anything that special from May. I think it would be nice to see someone more younger enforcer next season.

Bertuzzi, he's been one of our best players and it's not often you get a top 6 guy for 1.5 mil. He's even better than people like to give him credit for. Eaves and Miller have been pleasant surprises but, Bert can be a game changer.

Willams hasn't played enough games to be fairly judged in my opinion. May could be waived tomorrow and I wouldn't flinch.

hands down Eaves...

Bert gets a very honorable mention and Miller was great pickup, but not a signing... even though he played pretty well before he went down, I think the Williams signing was a waste... especially when we could have had Prospal instead...

Also, if Bab's is so bent on the right handed shot from the point, I'd be ok with Eaves back there for that anyway, he's got a very heavy, accurate shot...

Bertuzzi, and I think he could be even better... just being healthy and having confidence and its not impossible we can see a vintage or very close to vintage bertuzzi.... the only bad thing about him is that he ends up with alot of penalties but some years ago you could do all the things he's been put in the box for.

How the hell do you know that? Once again, this isn't NHL10.

I really like Eaves and Miller, I'm not a big Bertuzzi fan, but I wasn't worried about what he would bring to the table. Eaves and Miller I was worried about at first. I'm still on the fence about Williams, I know he's been injured, so I'll reserve judgement on him.

Your double negative confuses me.

Bert took a while to get going but has been great. I would love for the Wings to retain him but if he continues his great play I don't think the Wings will be able to afford him...

Eaves is just a joy to watch and his fight in the last game sealed the deal for me, gotta be a keeper.

We need a younger May.

Miller is kool, works his ass off. Would like to see him stay.

It's been so long since I've seen Williams play can't really remember what he did???? I liked him when we signed him the first time but the year before we dumped him he got really soft in his play so I wasn't unhappy when he left.

On the other hand, I don't think he wants to leave. He learned it during his first stint in Detroit.

This is not a Lebda and a 4th round pick for Lucic type scenario... it's simple semantics...

Prospal was an UFA and signed for 1.5

Williams was an UFA and signed for 1.5

I don't see where the confusion on your part is... pretty cut and dry...

<_<

This preseason I was happy with the Bert signing and appalled by the Eaves signing. Once again Kenny shows that he knows more than I do. I knew nothing about Eaves going into this season (other than the two videos on YouTube of him getting absolutely destroyed in hits, Kopecky style).

Bert is doing exactly what he was expected to do, even if it took him a while to get going. Eaves on the other hand has smashed all expectations; defensively, checking, even on offense. I think if Williams stayed healthy he would also be living up to expectations, but not more. Miller has been a pleasant surprise, and I like May as well.

Gotta give it to Eaves, with Bert a close second.

Maybe Prospal didn't want to sign for the Wings. Maybe it wasn't even discussed. How can we know?

We can't - that's why I said COULD HAVE and not PASSED UP ON - My point was allocation of cap space... also, I find it very hard to believe that Prospal would have passed up on a chance to play on the wing with Dats...

My vote goes to a tie for Bertuzzi and Eaves. I would love to see both of them back next year. Bertuzzi has been skating pretty well this season. He looks healthy and I think he is getting his confidence back. The only thing that I could ask from him is to get a little more nasty to place against. I would like to see him muck it up a little more, maybe drop the gloves a couple of times. Eaves has been phenomenal. He very well could turn into the next Cleary reclamation project. I think the Helm, Draper, Eaves line has been our best and most consistent line all year. Those three seem like they were made specifically to play on a line together.

And on a side note, I really think Bertuzzi will be back. I think he really likes it here. He has said that he really liked it here the last time around and that he didn't know why he ever left. And most importantly, he wants to be here, and the Red Wings want him here. Eaves, I think the Red Wings would welcome him back, but he might see this as his chance to go to another team and get back into a top 6 role, and make some cash too.

My favorite is May, natch. He fights most:)

Biggest, most pleasant surprise to ma has been Bert. I expected him to be a bum, he exceeded my expectations significantly. I thought he was out of gas, but he's playing the best hockey he's played in years.
