Eva, Howard was not at fault for the overtime tonight, just like Osgood was not at fault for the loss to Washington last game.

The team should have buried the chances they had in the first (three of them I can think of off the top of my head), and should have really been better at bearing down in the last ten minutes of the third.

This team still doesn't know how to finish with the players they have and it has nothing to do with goaltending.

To be fair, I'm beginning to see the pattern. THere is a fine line between finishing and being unable to finish. They're coming within an inch or two, or a post, or an edge of a goalie skate. I'm blaming it on horrible luck and curses for now, just looking back on the season. Sooner or later it has to turn around.

^Agreed^

The Wild scored on awkward and lucky bounces. Not much to blame Howie for, especially when he stood strong in the OT and shootout.

I'll take the win and move on to facing the Kings Saturday.

Curses or not, you make your own breaks.

Detroit just hasn't and that is irritating me.

Actually I watch every game. In Memphis. Through NHL Center Ice. It's time for Filps to grow up, let go of the stupid deke moves he can't pull off, and become a man. He tries to be too cute. "The Wings just got a little less pretty and little more gritty."

Look, I know you have a Filps Banner so you're an expert on the matter, but you made that yourself. It means nothing in particular.

I don't believe you. He's been pretty damn good since coming back from injury. And there are people not nearly as big fans of him that will say the same.

You're an idiot. Lock yourself in a closet.

Okay? Do you know who I am? No. And that's why you talk on here. Relax man, it's a freaking message board. You're so tough with your words. We like the same team. I stated an opinion. And I believe it to be true, as Filp rarely does connect on those cutsy moves. He has plenty of quiet games. What this has to do with closets is beyond me....

The Sabres should win tonight since Ryan Miller is a goalie for them. It's the Miller brothers' night!

Hope so. I also hope Chicago beats Calgary tonight. But I hope Calgary physically destroys them so bad they can't compete for the rest of the season.

I liked Leino's attempt. I thought he had backstrom beat until he got tripped but those are the breaks. At least he attempted to fake out the goalie this time. He had a solid game, by his standards and I think that's why Babcock put him in 4th.

Um, well I don't know what to tell you. I'm not lying. It's my opinion. We can disagree. He really pisses me off with his cutsy stuff that always seems to fail. He needs to take the bull by the horns so to speak and really become a go to guy. Use his speed. Get stronger on his skates, he falls wayyyy too much.

Stop making sense, or the Howard fans will lynch you.

I guess people tend to give a ROOKIE (who wasn't even supposed to make according to most on here) a little bit more slack then a person who has let us down in the regular season twice now. Or it's the fact as pointed out earlier at least with Howard we feel like we can get a win or 2, with Ozzy most are nervous the entire game. Of course Howard has his faults but he has out played Ozzy light years so far. Why do you think people give a vet who is supposed to be our number 1 for 2 seasons now more s*** then a rookie?

Actually he did look pretty good out there tonight. He made a couple chances and had the right idea with the puck most of the night. Hopefully he can build on this game.

He hasn't been bad at all, but he's never been as good as many say. People hype up his secondary assists like he scored a goal. Bottom line to me, he's not worth $3 million. Not even close. He would get far grace from people like me if he wasn't making $3 million a year. Well, that and the overzealous fanboys get pretty annoying at times...
