hooon 1,089 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Getting those fellows back will be huge for this team. Interesting decisions cap and roster wise.
Guest DatsyukianDeke13 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 this is true, but when everyone is healthy, we will be a very very good hockey club
rage 24 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 "There's lots of players in this league that bounce from place to place until they find a home. Ideally for Millsie, he's found a home for himself." For the love of all things, can we please just call him Drew?!?!?!
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Homer and Kronwall will be such boosts to the PP. Whenever Willy gets healthy, he'll be a help too.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Getting those fellows back will be huge for this team. Interesting decisions cap and roster wise. I'm not so sure on all of them. Williams, for instance. I know people think because he's right handed he'll make our PP better, but I'm hard pressed to believe that he'll be more effective than say, Eaves or Miller has been. He may rack up a few more points, but his work ethic will be about half as much as anyone we lose to bring him back.
Guest DatsyukianDeke13 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Before J Willy got injured he had 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points in 15 games

I thought they were all about playing physical in the sense of being tough on the puck, protecting it, winning battles, etc.

And he's a Right handed shoot. He'll probably play w/ Kronwall.

We can only hope that sitting and watching these guys will light a fire under his ass. He's only got a one year deal, so to be outplayed by Eaves or Miller would be very detrimental to his career. As a veteran I would think he gets what he has to do for himself and for the team. I have faith - him and Flip actually had some great chemistry before both their injuries. I just don't see how months of sitting out can change things about him that have been true for years.
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Great news, especially the Kronwall bit. His presence has been sorely missed. It's weird because I still don't know what to think about Williams given how little we've ended up seeing of him. Hopefully he can surprise us.

The player that he has been for years is still better than Eaves or Miller, though that doesn't say much. They are respectable bangers though.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Willy was going into the corners, bumping a bit, and playing good before he got hurt. I'm willing to give him a second chance, as long as he doesnt turn back into 2007 Jason Williams.

Right now they need someone to rack up a few more points, even if he's not giving the effort of less talented players. That's not ideal, but that's where the Wings are right now. Scoring 2 goals a game just doesn't cut it.

bconnan 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Holmstrom should NOT be on the top line. Cleary or Miller should get that spot until Franzen comes back.
