Leino's contract isn't two-way anymore, is it? It's just May, Miller, and Abdelkader that we have the option of sending down, I think.

No. May or Miller would have to clear wavers. It is unlikely that anybody would claim May but Miller would be gone.

that's not how 2 way contracts work... I feel like we've gone over this a million times on this board - 2 way just means what they're paid depending on where they play - waiver exemption is a completely different story and the ONLY Red Wing that is waiver exempt is Abdelkader

Gotcha. In a way, that's what I was getting at. (That Abdelkader could be sent down without going through waivers) Even though I misunderstood the general idea.

It was a given that Abdelkader would be sent down, since we're going to have cap issues and he's our sole waiver-exempt player. If we make the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back up.

as sad as it is to admit this about that waste of skin... he has SOME value - not much, but we could get something in return for him and if we waive him, he WILL be claimed, guaranteed.... Holland does not like losing guys for nothing...

I hate to admit it, because I think Williams has stupid hair... but he could definitely help the powerplay. That was the one area I was most impressed with this season. He's got a bullet for a shot. There, I said it.

I used to dislike Willy, but he looked great in the pre-season and in most of the games he played in. Besides, with Abby take away the two goals he scored in that s***show against Columbus, he has 1 goal this year... plus he wasnt playing tough like he can, 20 minutes in the AHL will be great for his development and Williams wont hurt us.
