RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 4.5 million a season for this? Ive never been so sick of seeing a player since Anders Eriksson. Also his whopping 2 goals and 9 assists to go along with his -11.
HockeytownRules19 902 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 You are a freaking idiot... w/o him we would be no where near we are.... Ericsson, Kronwall, Lilja all hurt throughout the year and Lidstrom for a while not playing well. He carried our DMen... Yes he has struggled lately but give me a freaking break. Red Crazy 201 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Brad Stuart has been one of our best d-men this year. Granted he has had some moments but he has been stuck with whoever was healthy for a partner and that is not easy. I will take 4.5 for him over 6 for Rafi anyday of the week thanks. Brad Stuart is a -11 Where Rafalski is a +13. You need to lay off the pipe.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 He was easily our best defenceman in the 1st half. But he's been downright horrible in the 2nd so far.

Jericho613 74 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 I think Stuart's stats would look better if Kronwall wasn't hurt so much this year. Granted Stuart has his frustrating moments (Game 7 in the finals).
Red Crazy 201 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 Brad Stuart is a -11 Where Rafalski is a +13. You need to lay off the pipe. I know the numbers and as I said he HAS had some moments. But Rafalski plays with Lidstrom and he is also on the number one powerplay. Stuart plays with who is left over and is always on the ice when it comes time to kill penalties. Lets face it they all need to be much better.

Lidstrom for life 20 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 Stuart makes 3.75 a season not 4.5. If you are going to start an X player sucks thread after a loss the least you can do is get your facts straight.

How can anyone excuse Stuart for turning the puck over that led to the 1st goal, and completely getting undressed by Frolov for the 4th goal. He get's manhandled by guys much smaller than him. RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 Yes I do give you permission to check your facts next time before you make a pointless thread. So im assuming Brad Stuart gave you an autograph, and took a sweet picture with you. Im assuming either you stood next to him with one of those tough looks on your face, or you put your arm around him and smiled for the camera. Its ok we all have our heros. GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 That no-trade clause is starting to look real bad right about now. That would be a good salary to move too, especially with Lilja returning.
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 ok 3.75 million a season for this. He just wasn't god awful for this game either. He get's man handled by guys smaller than him, and Ive seen glaciers mover faster than him. Not to mention his lack of common knowledge. Any idiot knows to wrap the puck down the boards if you wanna out let it not go up the ice. He needs to stop listening to McCrimmon.
Feldmarschall 9 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 Stewie's stats show a problem any shut-down defenseman's stats will show - he doesn't generate offense so his plus/minus suffers, and to make things worse he's often paired with sub-par offensive players thanks to the Wings' numerous injuries. The first half of the season, he was spot on. His plus/minus doesn't show it, but one stat doesn't tell the whole story. I'd wager a guess that he's one of the best on the back end if you measured his performance in goals against per minute of icetime. He took hard matchups consistently, dealt with whatever garbage linemate he had, and was the best damn PKer on the team. He's fallen off badly lately, however. Some criticism is warranted. He was a premier shutdown defenseman up until the last several games, probably the only guy consistently winning his battles and taking his assignments properly. Now he's in a downswing. Too bad that as Lidstrom and Rafalski make a push, Stuart is at a low point and Kronwall reinjured himself. It's always something... but Stuart will come back from it. All good players do. Green Wing 26 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) Stuart has been bad the last few weeks, but he was very good for the first half of the season. So he's going through a bad spell. That's all I'd read into it. If the team had settled pairs of d-men then things would be better. Edited February 7, 2010 by Green Wing
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted February 7, 2010 That no-trade clause is starting to look real bad right about now. That would be a good salary to move too, especially with Lilja returning. The flyers are begging for defense help. They already took 1 trash pile maybe we can send them a second. I say send Stuart to the Flyers for A zamboni tire, and a extra skate sharpener. Then the wings free up the money to bring lilja on and call up Janik or Kindl and play with Lilja. Or just play Meech full time.
