Loyalty questions for Canadian Wings fans

I'm loyal to Holland, Nill, Babcock and Yzerman. If you want to cheer for the team with the most Red Wings on it the only option left is Canada.

I could care less about Perry or Pronger until Monday.

Maybe I'm wrong but I dont know that anyone is really saying that they are saying they'd flat out cheer against Canada as a whole somply because of a few guys they hate. I think it's more they would rather not see those players they hate succeed but that doesn't imply Canada as a team can't succeed.

For example, for everyone who hates Crosby but wanted Canada to beat Russia the other night it must have been pretty sweet to see Canada light up the Russians without Crosby getting like 4 points and dominating all night long.

You can cheer for a team while not wanting certain players to stand out. It's kind of a double edged sword but I never said it made any sense....it is what it is.

It's kind of like many ppl on this site love Jonathan Toews but since he plays for our rival Blackhawks probably want to see Tows light up the NHL and put up sick numbers and play super well all while the Blackhawks lose. It's tough to have it actually happen but that's what we'd all like to see.

I just can't take anymore of the media/Bettman man crush for Crosby. If Canada losing means less Crosby, then sign me up. If Canada can win without Crosby scoring another point, I'll sign too.

im loving nash. i dont really like crosby even though im canadian, hes just not my kind of player. i dont like perry even though he played for my hometown london knights. ive liked keith, richards, morrow and the san jose line just fine. just no crosby. i think pronger should have been replaced with brad stuart. why doesnt he play for canada.... im not getting it.

See, I don't understand the ppl that have blind patriotism. You should have standards and reasons for liking or disliking players. I dislike Crosby because in my opinion he's a whiner. That's not to take anything away from his skill and ability but I just dislike his personality. I'm canadian but just because it's the olympics and he puts on a Team Canada jersey doesn't mean that suddenly I'm going to love him off and start cheering for him.

I like the way Mike Richards, Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith, Rick Nash, Drew Doughty and some of the other Team Canada players play so when they were named to the team I was pumped. WHen guys like Joe Thornton, Corey Perry, Patrick Marleau, and Chris Pronger were named I was indifferent because although I'll give them credit for their skill and ability they each have personality traits that I dislike (Thornton and Marleau for no showing big games, Perry for being a chippy, spineless f***** at times, Pronger for not owning up to his cheapshots etc.)

As I said in my previous post, I want Canada to win for the guys I like (which include Babcock, Yzerman, and Holland) but that doesn't mean I cheer or jeer for those I dislike.

I like more of the American Players than I do the Canadians.

As an American I'm having trouble not cheering for the best player to ever play the game in Sidney Crosby.

The guy plays the game with such grace and intelligence it's just breath taking.

That said, I'll be happy with either result on Sunday for this very reason.

Out of curiosity say the game was tied 2-2 and there was less than a 10 seconds left and Crosby strips the puck from someone and scores so Canada wins gold. Your basically saying you would sit there, wouldn't high five anyone cheer that Canada has won because it was Crosby that scored the winner? I just want to confirm your level of hatred for him.

As for a Canadian, I cheer for my country and those who wear the jersey. I may not like all the players in the NHL but I can separate my feelings from that as this has absolutely nothing to do with the stanley cup or the Detroit Red Wings. I don't care for Crosby either, but if he scored like I mentioned above and we won... then f*** ya i would cheer.
