WMUCarGuy 8 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 I knew I wanted a white Vladimir Konstantinov jersey for my next jersey, and I knew I wanted a Stanley Cup and/or VKSM Believe patch figured I'd have to go with a technically incorrect CCM jersey and just deal with it. But last week, I came across a size 48 authentic Nike home white Konstantinov jersey and I knew I had to have it! And I got a great deal on it too! CCM replicas with names/numbers/patches are selling for $175-200, and I got this authentic one for $200 so I'm very happy with the purchase! This is my first authentic jersey and I have to say, it is MUCH nicer than my CCM & Reebok replicas. The materials are nicer, feels like it's better put together, and I also noticed that the winged wheel has a bit more "give" in it than on the replicas, it doesn't feel as much like you've got a stiff piece of plastic on your chest or something like that. I really love this thing! So now I'm trying to figure out which patch or combination of patches to have SportsK add on for me! I know I want the VKSM Believe patch because it's unique, and really meaningful to all of us Wings fans. What I'm not sure about is whether to add a Stanley Cup Patch. I'd like to have the 97 patch as that's the one that Vladdy actually played in, but there was no VKSM patch then. I could also do the 98 patch as that would be more correct in that the team wore both, but Vladdy didn't play, and apparently no official Vladdy jersey was issued in 98. titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 That's actually a tough decision. He was a HUGE part of the 1997 cup win. At the same time the whole 1998 year was dedicated to him. Although we did not believe so before the year started, the 1997 team is quite legendary in our eyes. That's making me lean towards 98 and Believe. Does anyone know if the red jersey Vladdy wore during the 98 cup celebration had the Believe patch? Every pic I've seen shows him from the wrong side. I purchased mine when he was still playing, I had to choose between Vlad and Nick. I thought Vlad was going to be a career Red Wing and Nick at the time was debating going back to Sweden. So I went with Vlad. Little did I know the jersey would take on more significance after the Cup win. Great purchase and make it as authentic as possible. Vlad never wore the VM&SK patch that I know of, unless the jersey he wore when they gave him the Cup had it on there. I looked at pictures to confirm but none show it.
