Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted August 2, 2010 Mitchells still out there. ******* Anaheim, always getting tougher and stealing players I'd like to see on the Wings.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) Yeah Mitchell actually has been training for a while with no problems from the concussion.. he will get doctor's approval any time now.. a healthy mitchell however is too expensive for the wings (?) According to reports he has now gone down from 12 teams to 4 he can be willing to sign for, wonder which teams Edited August 2, 2010 by mindfly

Guest Crymson Report post Posted August 2, 2010 Another one off the list...... You can't really complain about this one, dude. He went at a price far too high for the Wings. On the plus side, we've got a lot more good players than Anaheim has.

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) I'm glad we didn't sign him. We don't need a big, physical defenseman that can clear the crease. We're already awesome at that, as we showed in the playoffs last year. What we really need is a 40 year old winger to play on our "Grind Line" and an almost 40 year old winger who should have retired several years ago when he stopped becoming useful to us. Guest mindfly Report post Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Sutton is, to be honest, a number4 defenseman, and looking at our team he has no room, a 6th D shouldn't cost more than a million bucks... i wanna see Modano, a 6th D and maybe a forechecking part-time fighter (no not and old washed up downey) if the price is right...and by doing this there will be a few trades etc, but that's no problem. CenterIce 83 Report post Posted August 3, 2010 man sutton is gonna raise hell for sharks and kings fans, didn't he play for the sharks way back when? Yes, he was drafted by them out of Michigan Tech, as a winger. He was a winger before college, played defense in college, and started as a winger in the pros. He ended up switching back to defense in Minnesota.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted August 3, 2010 suttons a uy i would have wanted us to make a trade to make room for, how i don't know, nor do i care Were you drunk when you posted this? I'm glad we didn't sign him. We don't need a big, physical defenseman that can clear the crease. We're already awesome at that, as we showed in the playoffs last year. Yeah, sure, because we could have afforded to spend $2m on a third-pairing defenseman, one who happens to be unable to skate. You complain about the most nonsensical s***, GMR. You moan and complain and then you give up in the tough times and scream about how there's no hope. Get your head checked. What we really need is a 40 year old winger to play on our "Grind Line" and an almost 40 year old winger who should have retired several years ago when he stopped becoming useful to us. Modano isn't a winger, and he wouldn't be playing on the checking line. Maltby was offered a two-way contract; quit being a dumbass. I swear, you'll always find things to complain about; you'll create them out of nowhere if necessary. 2 crotty99 and Louisville reacted to this

Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted August 3, 2010 Anaheim is gonna be, like every other year, tough as hell to play against. Their defense is going to be the thing that takes them down, I think. They have the offensive weapons, but no defensive gems whatsoever. Are Sutton and Brookbank good, hard hitting, shut down defensemen? You bet. Are they gonna carry the team defensively? No. The Anaheim Ducks will be tough as hell to play against, with Parros, Chipchura, Voros, Bodie, Brookbank, and Sutton. But fighting doesn't necessarily equal success. There must be a good blend of talent and nastiness. The defense will be the reason they miss the playoffs again, in my opinion.

Every single time there is a tough player, I think its funny how youre the one that finds something to complain about.. Reaally Sutton can't skate? Well the ret of the NHL must really suck then if a guy who can't skate at all is capable of constantly hammering guys and being the biggest hitter in the league. Also Sutton is acapable defender, much better then a bottom pairing guy 1 ManLuv4Clears reacted to this

He's good for the Ducks crappy defense, but here he just wouldn't be worth the price.

I was just saying that everytime a tough player from another team is brought up Crymson decides he isn't capable of plaing the game of hockey whatsoever. I seriously wonder if that guy even watches hockey. I wonder if Sheldon Brookbank is available via trade..Miller for Brookbank? I would make that deal in a heartbeat
