I really want Smith to do well and impress the Wings' staff. Everyone knows he won't be up with the team this year, but at the very least he could make Ericsson worry about losing his job. Maybe then he would pick up his game.

He might be the guy that they're "trying to kill" as Babs said a couple years ago when remembering Cleary's tryout and then Leino's. Or, in nicer words, the guy that they're really trying to test to see how good he is. Ritola and probably a couple others, I'm sure.

I like the line-up. Ritola's got a good chance here to shut me up. I think that fourth line could make some noise too, especially with Emmerton and Owens having good camps.

Bertuzzi is the only "enforcer" DRWs need.

I'm excited to see Ritola. I project him to become a solid 3rd liner some day despite not making a big splash in the AHL with inferior line-mates.
