seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 I think the rule is stupid in the 1st place. But more importantly, I don't think that was a throat-slash gesture. That looked more like a gesture you might make to a friend you want to shut up about something. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 I think this is more directly related to fans than anything else. Certainly don't want kids watching guys pretend to slash each others necks even if it is pretend. I mean what's next, pretending to hump each others mamas? DAMMIT, I heard Hudler learned that goal celebration in Russia last year and I was dying to see it. 3 henrik40, 55fan and Zeowingsfan reacted to this
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted September 27, 2010 I still didn't see a throat slash. I see the universal sign for no.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) Well let's see, throat slash, tommy gun, shotgun, finger pointing, stick pointing.. Not only is this type of behavior/illustrations prevalent in the NHL but other leagues too like the NFL. What the hell is the big deal and what the hell is up with the NHL and it's behavioral engineering s***. Just play hockey and leave 'em alone -- it was just a gesture while game was going on, between whistles. Even if it is a throat slash gesture (seems to be ambiguously interpreted but who cares) it certainly isn't going to hurt kids any. RememberStevieY 5 Report post Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) I don't see what the big deal is. Chris Benoit used to do throat jestures all the time when he was wrestling. I don't think Boynton ment any harm. He did say "f" that while skating off the ice doing the gesture, still no reason to suspend him imo. But Chris Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated his 7-year-old son then hung himself. Edited September 27, 2010 by RememberStevieY
