Better team won tonight. Chicago is a poorly managed club and their elitism is over. Now they are just another average team... Proof's in the pudding; loss to Avs and to a tired Red Wings team that played 2 games in less than 24 hours.

Oh, and Turco is a s*** goalie. They should have traded Sharp to keep Neimi. Such a joke of a club.

Chicago fans were trolling LGW's all summer and telling us that they have still have their core players and they will be good no matter what because they kept those guys. Yet they are 0-2 in the season. Lol! So the joke is "CORE" every time they lose, which is every game so far...

Also want to mention that Red Wings 2nd line is unstoppable. Bert-Flip-Franz line is a thing of beauty. Flip will have a break out year and Franzen will score 40 goals.

Three times Kopecky had complete gimmees handed to him by Kane and Toews and didn't even close each time. It still blows my mind he is playing on the first line.

Great win by the Red Wings... just what I wanted considering our rivalry, as well as their hype of the Cup win.

As much as I disliked the parade, I do have to clap to the Hawks fans for booing Bettmann...

As for the game:

I thought Osgood played fairly well in the 2nd period as he really saved us with a couple of key interceptions as well as on that Toews 1v1.

Defensively I thought Kindl did well coming to play into a tough atmosphere for his first game of the season. I was also happy with the way we played considering the physically tough game last night. Last season back to back games usually ended in a loss during the 2nd game.

And as much as Modano didn't shine as he did yesterday, I really liked his dump in which led to the goal and his aggressiveness in certain situations where most of our more technically minded players would either look to puss or dump the puck. There was one backhand he had on attempted on goal where there were 3 Hawks players in the defensive zone waiting for him to dump the puck. Thus far he has offered something different.. hopefully he can keep it up over 82 games.

Tonight is a prime example of what depth can do. I'd take our depth over their 'core' any day.

ZDH didn't really impress me today, but the 2nd line picked up the slack and then some.

Congrats to Ozzie on moving one step closer to an impressive milestone, he looked like the Ozzie of '08 tonight making the tough saves and shutting it down on the 3rd period power-play marathon they gave the Hawks.

I am genuinely excited about this team.

Awesome to win both games of a back to back. Very happy. Ozzy played fairly solid, out to dry on the first goal but the second one I thought he should of had. He made some big saves later on though. I'm happy he's back on the winners list. Next to Turco he looked like a god anyway

I hope Z starts putting them in the net soon. I'll give the PP a few more games to find its rythm before I get too picky but obviously it hasn't been very effective as of yet.

Yeah, Kopecky is still a total idiot out there.

He belongs on the 3rd line, not on the 1st.

I honestly think if they had a decent winger on that line it would of done more damage. Towes and Hossa were just beasts out there and the way Hossa was back checking was just WOW.

I wonder if the ice was bad out there today? Passing wasn't the best from both teams overall, some lines were clicking but overall both teams just looked odd today.

As for how badly Chi gutted their roster they were still able to hang with us today for the most part. Them being the more physical of the two IMO helped out in that area.

Hopefully Ozzie gets to start more consistently so that he can build off of his performance tonight and let him regain the respect he deserves. Ideally I'd like to see him start as much as every other game, but it'll probably be every third or fourth game.

If they played like they did Friday night, they would've easily won 4-1 my guess. But I'm giving some slack because of how awesome that Ducks game was. Great way to begin the season I'm sure Ozzie still needs to show consistency before this board lets him back into the "cool" group.
