under_par_00 45 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 http://www.nhl.com/ice/preview.htm?id=2010020148&navid=sb:preview This article mentions Rafalski will be out another 2-3 weeks. GM Ken Holland said the back spasms that sidelined Howard Thursday are a "day-to-day" issue. But to make room for MacDonald, forward Kris Draper was shifted to the long-term injured list while he recovers from hernia surgery, and defenseman Brian Rafalski was placed on the short-term injured list while he recovers from knee surgery, which is expected to sideline him at least another 2-3 weeks. Justin Abdelkader (ribs) and Jonathan Ericsson (back spasms) also missed Thursday's game and are questionable for Saturday.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 Typical Red Wings. I was hoping he'd be back next week. Seems like our injured guys always take forever to recover. Must be due to older players taking longer to heal.
Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 They originally said 3-4 weeks when he had the surgery, and that was on October 12th. So the "2-3 more weeks" from now would put him at about 4-5 weeks total healing time.

Doubtful, but we shall see.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 I just realized that when Draper comes back we'll have a serious backlog of players. With 3 lines playing well and nowhere to move Cleary and Modano, Draper and Hudler would have to sit. Talk about an embarassment of riches if those two guys sit mainly because there's no room. titanium2 867 Report post Posted October 31, 2010 Can't help it. But I think it's safe to assume that whenever someone is injured that they'll really be out whatever duration they say and a half.
