VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted January 15, 2011 i keep forgetting he's on the team Me, too. He's spent more time off the team than on it this season. At any rate, he was picking up his play a bit, hopefully he can make an impact when he returns.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted January 17, 2011 Modano claims he can pass and shoot the puck and is ahead of schedule to return. He expects to start practicing regularly in late February. (via 97.1 The Ticket) Good news. Night and day from when we thought it could be the end of his career.

(via 97.1 The Ticket) Good news. Night and day from when we thought it could be the end of his career. I like this ALOT, i'm going to two games in March. One being March 11th which I was hoping to be his return game BUT I won't be selfish and will welcome him back tomorrow if he could!
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted January 17, 2011 Does Modano actually fit in? He was not very good before the injury. Almost as bad as Hudler.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted January 17, 2011 Given the teams injuries any returning player is great news!

Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) Glad to hear Pasha and Mo skating. Especially Pavel. It doesn't take a broken or cut hand to skate. edit: However, for the good news, I noticed in Modano's interview (about him being back on the ice) that he was playing with a stick the entire time. I'm guessing he's holding one pretty often to re-train those tendons/muscles. Edited January 17, 2011 by CaliWingsNut
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted January 17, 2011 Does Modano actually fit in? He was not very good before the injury. Almost as bad as Hudler. The first half of the season he didn't fit in the the Wings system. He looked like a Star in a Wings' uniform. The two or three weeks that lead up to his injury, however, were a different story. He was playing good Wings' style hockey and was showing up on the scoreboard to boot. 7 of his 8 points this season came in his past 11 games played. He's also +4 in that time.
