Is anyone else expecting the Wings to hit 100?

Amazing achievement, yes, but I won't go as far as to say one of the greatest dynasties in professional sports. There are certainly greater dynasties in hockey without even looking at different sports.

I guess is depends on how you define a dynasty. They have certainly been one of the most consistent teams over the past 20 years, consistent contenders, but they never dominating to the point where they won 4 cups in a row, or 4 in 5 years, so something like that.

Anyway, I don't think anything compares to the Montreal Canadiens from the 70s (maybe the Canadiens of the 50s?). Between 1971 and 1983, they achieve 100pts or more 8 times in a row, but if you prorate to 82 games (they didn't play that many then), you'll get 13 years in a row. They also won the cup 6 times (including 4 in a row). If they had of earned 1 more point in 1970, they would have put together a string of 16 years in a row with 100pts (pro rated to 82 games) and 8 cups.

Heck, I don't even consider the Wings of the past 20 years a dynasty.

Of course not, especially since they had exclusive rights to every french player first which is how they pretty much formed there dynasty.

When's the last time the Wings didn't get 100 pts. I think we are going on something like 7 straight seasons going 100+ but I'm not sure.

They have done it 10 straight years and working on #11 and SHOULD get there pretty soon.

As a Canucks fan riding high on his teams Century Club title from last Tuesday I'm here to tell you all that there is plenty more room left up here at the top and plenty of time for the Wings to get here

 A couple great regular seasons and everyone gets delusions of grandeur... :P just jokin with ya! I know 6 out of 8 over 100 nice...

...Of course 14 out of 17 and closing in on 15/18, now we're talking! If you pro-rate 1995 with 70 points in 48 games, there would be about 112pts in 82 games, Wow! Blessed we are!

Based on the history of 2nd seeds or whatever, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the Wings had to settle for 3rd, eh?

usually yes, but as it stands today we'd draw the Hawks and that is pretty much the only team we may face in the first that I am pretty confident we'll beat... I'd hate to face Dallas or LA...

Carolina was 2nd seed in 2006. Anaheim was 2nd seed in 2007. Chicago was 2nd seed in 2010. In all, 2nd seeds have won three of the six post-lockout Cups thus far.
