evilzyme 769 Report post Posted April 12, 2011 So according to the NHL, this is the greatest simulator and predicts the Stanley Cup Finals, World Series, Super Bowl, and whatever basketball does... it takes roster + regular season match ups and all those great useless stats and predicts what will happen. Some of these just absolutely make me laugh... http://www.whatifsports.com/nhl_playoffs_2011/bracket.asp?r=

Some of these just absolutely make me laugh... http://www.whatifspo...bracket.asp?r=1 Yeah... it's so accurate that it has Zetterberg / Filppula / Franzen as the top scoring line. It also doesn't allow for players to play multiple positions (Datsyuk and Zetterberg are both LW only). Edit: it also shows Crosby as playing Edited April 12, 2011 by CaliWingsNut

Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted April 12, 2011 So Red WIngs have the 2nd lowest chance to win the cup? Time to mail it in boys. You're expecting too much from ESPN. What am I missing? Where did ESPN come from? Is Whatif.com a byproduct of ESPN?
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted April 12, 2011 My favorite is how it divides up the TOI and all that. One game I simmed had Helm and Abdelkader played almost 7 minutes of PK each, without any other forwards playing any. Meanwhile, the PP unit featured Hudler, Cleary, Franzen, Lidstrom, and Kindl. Kindl, in fact, played a total of 6 minutes in that game; 2 PP and 4 PK. No even strength minutes for Jakub! Beyond that, the top forward line was playing 30 minutes a game. Terrible simulator. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 I like how they don't proof read their work, and spell Bruins wrong in the finals. Plus they predicted that the Bruins would win a 7 game series. A guy I know in Philly assured me that's impossible.
sleepwalker 512 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 I like how they don't proof read their work, and spell Bruins wrong in the finals. I like how they have the winner of the Wings vs. Coyotes matchup as the Predators and the winner of the Penguins vs Lightning matchup as the Flyers... WTF? Its like they all got together and smoked several multi-gram crack rocks before hand so that they could try to put together the most retarded and nonsensical chart they possibly could. If that was the plan, they should be proud. They succeeded with flying colors. 1 evilzyme reacted to this

Teams are re-seeded after the first round, so best seeded plays worst seeded and the two middle teams play each other. 5 hooon, Konnan511, wings1110 and 2 others reacted to this

PrairieDawg 52 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Its weird how they have us losing to Phoenix, when I did the simulator with our actual top line we swept the series and won 5-2, 5-2, 3-1, 5-0. It is pretty funny though, cause it had Lidstrom playing 42 minutes and Patrick Eaves playing 6 seconds. Edited April 13, 2011 by PrairieDawg

Nick is ironman. Averages over 40 minutes a game. He racked up 52:50 in one OT game. That puss Rafalski only plays about 1 1/2 minutes or less. At least you can dress 20+ skaters in a game though. It's clearly simulating poor coaching choices.

GSBrooks13 204 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Damn, I wish someone had of told me Detroit only had a 0.26% chance of winning the cup. I guess I might as well not watch now.. the whole playoffs is ru-eened. EDIT: Just did one of their Sim Games. Wings won 5-2.. This happened in the 2nd.. "16:02 10-11 Red Wings 4 minute double-minor penalty on Ruslan Salei for charging" Edited April 13, 2011 by GSBrooks13
