'Enough is enough'.

After one loss.

Modano is virtually useless, Draper in, Miller out, simple.

Draper in, Eaves out! Miller is outworking Eaves IMO.
If anyone sits, it should be Bert, even though I love the guy...he was a liability last night. I hope he makes me eat my words!

How is one of you best face off guys sitting Draper.

How is Modano sitting over Miller or Eaves.
I found out that if you are going to win games, you had better be ready to adapt.

Draper is being sat because he's nominally less valuable than Miller and Eaves.

Modano is being sat because he's proven himself to be less valuable than Miller and Eaves.

abs eaves and miller are essential on the PK. cant sit them unless you substitute for draper. the only guy modano might replace is hudler.

Which means no Modano, as Huds has been on of the team's best forwards all playoff.

Mike Modano not playing is not a major reason the Red Wings lost Friday. If he plays I'm all for it, but it was their first loss in 5 tries in the playoffs Friday. Get a f**king grip people.

I don't like Abby playing above Modano now, he is taking stupid penalties and we NEED Modano on our horrible power play

as much as a Franzen fan that I am he look like he is playing hurt to me his facial expressions look like he is in pain and out of energy.

Is Modano a better option I dont know but I think he would have more jump.

When Draper plays you notice him more than Miller, I think Detroit could use his Character/leadership/swaggar at the very least during this series.

Babcock will make a change now I think. Just a matter of if its Draper or Modano. We need something to add energy.

I'd like to see Mo and Drapes in. Bring 4 solid lines at San Jose with speed and skill.

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Modano
Cleary-Zetterberg-Franzen
Hudler-Filpula-Bertuzzi
Eaves-Helm-Draper
Miller
Abby

Lines are interchangeable, but Abby has taken bad penalties and done nothing on offence. Miller has been good on the PK, but every forward we have can PK save for Hudler and Bertuzzi. Mike's gotta shake things up, Datsyuk and Zetterberg doesnt work 5on5 anymore. And the amount of lose puck battles we loose because we're last getting to the puck is tiresome. Just do something differently, chane it up!

That top line would cause Datsyuk to die of fatigue.

I would also bring in Madonna and Draper, but at this point, it has nothing to do with line combos.

If more than half the team looks slow and unmotivated, it's kind of hard to think of line combos that would improve things.

Had Babcock been reading this message board, specifically this thread, the Red Wings just might have won today...

Lines dont matter like you said. It's all about icing the 20 guys who care the most and want to win. Personnally I believe Modano and Draper at the end of their careers are part of that 20. Not Abby, and unfortunately Miller needs to sit too. But his is more of a numbers problem where Abby has just played awful.

All righty, I am officially in favor of bringing in Modano. I was hoping Franzen would pick it up today, but I really think he's got to be struggling with his injury. After that one pass he fanned on, he absolutely knew he did it and went back and took three shots at Niemi, so he did try to turn it around and not float, but something's just not right. Modano doesn't score as much, and I hate to take out a guy who has the ability to do it, but it's better to have a guy who can pass than a guy who can't pass or score right now.

I'll let you guys figure out Abs...I don't know what to do there. Edit: no, okay, take him out, too. At least Draper doesn't usually take high sticking penalties left and right.

I only watched the first period today (had a pick-up lacrosse game to go play in), but I'm assuming based on posts in this thread that Abdelkader was again awful?

Hey, some people were talking about sitting him for this game, wonder if they might have been right.

I see Hudler tied with 6 other players at 3 points and he is only 1 point ahead of Miller and Eaves.

Yeah, I know. I read the stats. He hasn't been as good as Filppula or Datsyuk, but to indicate that he's been bad is kind of laughable.

ya, but to indicate he is the team's best player all playoff is hysterical...

Anyhow, change is needed, whether miller, eaves, abby or hudler sit, something needs to be done to knock some sense into these players....

What exactly does Modano bring to the table?
Think for yourself. Question authority. Throughout human history as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are or where we are going in this ocean of chance, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open mindedness, chaotic, confused vulnerability to inform yourself.
