RusDRW 155 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 why should we care? None of these will play for the Red Wings next season and I think most of them will be signed by those dates. Especially, Parise and Weber.
brett 1,029 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 Im actually interested in a few. Love to see what NJ is going to do with parise
DangleDangleBeach 16 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 callahan and/or dubinski will both probably be resigned.... but either would be nice to add as far fetched as it may be
SweWings 45 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 Well Stalberg is gone from this list. From TSN: The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms with restricted free agent forward Viktor Stalberg on a two-year contract. The deal is worth $1.75 million, with an average cap hit of $875,000 per season. Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) I don't think any will really end up being wings, however I am not going to rule out the possibility. I am interested in several of these. In particular I'm interested to see what happens with Boyle, Campoli, Weber, and Wheeler. Edited July 10, 2011 by CaliWingsNut
ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 I'm more interested to see who Nashville & NJ will have to trade off to afford Weber & Parise respectively. Figure both are going to get awarded significant raises.
LeftWinger 5,132 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 I'm more interested to see who Nashville & NJ will have to trade off to afford Weber & Parise respectively. Figure both are going to get awarded significant raises. Nashville has 13 forwards and 5 defensemen already signed along with 2 goalies. They have $23M available in Cap space, so unless the arbitrator awards Weber a 1 yr $24M contract, they shouldn't have to trade anyone.... The Devils, only have $7.3M available Cap, with 11 fwds, 7 D and 2 goalies. I guess $7.5M is feasible for Parise, but not sure he will get awarded that much. Even if he was awarded $7M that would give the 12 fwds with no room for injury call ups, in that scenario they would have to trade someone for sure. But I think he may get awarded somewhere around $5.5M to $6M... I'd take Rolston as a rental off their hands for the year...
Swayze 81 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 Porter and Wilson both re-signed. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=371407

For the last time, the Predators have an internal cap. 1 ogreslayer reacted to this
ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 For the last time, the Predators have an internal cap. Exactly. When Weber gets his big money award, the Preds will more than likely have to shed some salary somewhere.

StayClassy 38 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 (edited) NJ and NSH should just trade Weber and Parise straight up EDIT: But on second thought, I definitely think NSH could get more out of NJ than just Parise for Weber. Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted July 11, 2011 NJ and NSH should just trade Weber and Parise straight up EDIT: But on second thought, I definitely think NSH could get more out of NJ than just Parise for Weber. I don't like that one, don't think it would be a good swap. I don't think Parise would fit well into Nashville's lineup. I also doubt Weber wants to play the trap whenever NJ goes into "defensive mode".
Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted July 11, 2011 @adamjahns #Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman says he is still negotiating with Campoli and Frolik. Still "hopeful" he'll get them signed in "short order"

Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted July 13, 2011 For the last time, the Predators have an internal cap. Yeah, but they would likely go off of the cap for a year to keep Weber on the team. Also if they make the team worse by trading to stay under an internal cap now, they risk pissing Weber off only to leave when his short term deal ends. Guest Crymson Report post Posted July 13, 2011 I shudder to think of how high the arbitration rewards will be this year. For the last time, the Predators have an internal cap. They unloaded Lombardi and Franson to make space for Weber.

mjlegend 155 Report post Posted July 13, 2011 Come on Kenny: Hudler, Kindl and a first round pick for Purcell. It would improve our second line and allow Cleary to talk to someone in his own language.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Come on Kenny: Hudler, Kindl and a first round pick for Purcell. It would improve our second line and allow Cleary to talk to someone in his own language. As a fellow newfie I approve of this joke, and I agree. While the price there seems steep, Purcell would be a great fit. Guy was fantastic in the postseason
