WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 I've read the Bruins game is pretty rough. The Sens game was okay, with Philly dominating. Hopefully the battle of Alberta is good tonight. Brad May is on the panel before the Oilers' game. Good to see/hear him doing commentary.
InKennyWeTrust 126 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Benn slipped through 4 Blue Jackets to deposit a goal. Benn is an incredibly fun player to watch. 3-2 Dallas with 3 minutes left.
kylee 727 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 andddd the Jackets will come in friday without a win. I'm hoping student tickets will be available for that game, itd be my first this season. and boy...does that team look so anemic outside of Rick Nash and a few isolated plays tonight. Then again, right now they basically still are last years team so i think they'll turn it around, but not til after friday ;]
WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Bruins fans littering the ice, five Bruins in the box, and the Bruins' coach has been tossed.
ChelisChick 174 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 That Bruins/Canes game was some of the worst officiating I've ever seen. And I'm not one to ***** about that very often, but those refs totally blew that game to hell. I don't condone throwing anything on the ice, but I can understand how pissed the fans were. On a lighter note, Mark Mowers was doing some commentating between periods for NESN. He looks EXACTLY the same. He must have a picture in his attic that's ageing instead of him. ChelisChick 174 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 They just showed the Rick Rypien tribute video before the start of the Canucks game. I'm bawling all over again. As if Thursday night in Nashville wasn't bad enough with the Belak and Lokomotiv tribute....

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Kings up 5-0 on St. Louis. Kopitar with a great lob pass to Gagne for the 5th goal. Kings are looking good. Nice to have some offensive options instead of everyone just being able to key on Kopitar.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Just saw the highlights of the Bruins/Canes game, and wow. I love tough hockey, and fighting, but f*** Boston. Officially the "tough guys" of hockey, hitting Jeff Skinner from behind and then Marchand hitting him in the face with a linesman in the way, Chara trying to intimidate Cam Ward, yikes. If we do move to the East, i'll already have a most hated team. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

If the Wings move to the East there's going to be plenty of options for teams to hate. 2 Detroit \# 1 Fan and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Funny how Chara shies away from guys his size but he'll sure as hell go after the smaller guys like Cam Ward and Jay Harrison. One of the biggest frauds in the league. I would've liked to see Gleason and Horton go. Good stage-setter for following matchups. Cam Ward would've killed little Tukka Rask. The Bruins spot-picking is really starting to bother me. We'll see how eager they are to toss cheapshots when they play Ottawa, who really has nothing to lose already. These guys aren't the tough guys of hockey. Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Lucic is a pretty notorious spot picker too. He's not innocent either, but I do cut him some slack because we've seen him take on Colton Orr, Jay Rosehill, and Eric Boulton. When he does fight the big guys, he typically doesnt do well. At the same time, he's picked fights with guys like Josef Melichar. He is not the premier power forward in today's NHL, but I do consider him a power forward. You kind of make it sound like there are 5 other guys who are 6' 9" who are constantly challenging him.. I think Chara fought a lot more when he was younger and doesn't want to do it very much now because he's more important to his team, but you can't fault the guy for being big and standing up for team mates. I do remember Chara pummeling Hal Gill and Boris Valabik who are both "his size" and he also fought a number of other heavyweights like Laraque. Who knows what he was saying to Cam Ward but what is the point of being 6' 9" if you can't use it to intimidate other players and try to keep the other team in line when you feel its necessary? Hockey Convert 55 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Funny how Chara shies away from guys his size but he'll sure as hell go after the smaller guys like Cam Ward and Jay Harrison. I won't say the Bruins were in the right last night, but you should have watched the entire game or at least incident. Chara jumped into that and took an instigator because he didn't want them going after Horton, who is still recovering from a concussion. Then, when Chara had relented and was going to head to the penalty box, Cam Ward jumped in front of him and started running his mouth. During the rest of the game the Bruins did some stupid things, but absolutely the most disgraceful thing I saw in that game was Ward getting involved when he had absolutely no business doing so. Maybe he would have killed Rask, but if he's such a tough guy let's see it; Rask was offering. Maybe fighting "isn't part of the game", as some state. Regardless of how you feel, though, how can you tell me taunting and poking a prodding at a frustrated team until the give you a shove and then looking a the ref and yelling, "Teacher! Teacher! HE SHOVED MEEEEE!" should have any place on the ice? That crap was just as sickening as the Bruins losing their cool and acting like petulant children.
