Marvin Daniels, the father of Red Wings’ TV play-by-play man Ken Daniels, died Friday at 96. Ken Daniels worked Friday’s game before heading to Toronto to handle family arrangements. Dave Strader will do play-by-play for Fox Sports Net Detroit on Sunday at Colorado, while Matt Shepard will call Tuesday’s game at St. Louis.

Very Sad news! Thoughts are with you and your family Ken. Ken is by far the best NHL play by play man in the league!

It is never easy to lose a parent...doesn't matter how old you are. Our thoughts go with Ken and his family...we'll hold the fort down for you, my friend...

Wow, he did friday's game so well. Sad to hear about his dad.

May the Daniels family find comfort at this tough time.

My money on the board pledge:

$1 for each goal scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.

An additional $5 for each hat trick scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.

An additional $10 if any of the above goals is the GWG goal that gives us the series win.

An additional $50 if it is the GWG that wins us the Cup.

$5 for a SO by Jimmy.

My condolences to the Daniels family, particularly during the Holiday Season.

Money on the Board 2013:X cents for each scoring jersey number (example: 13 cents each time Datsyuk scores, etc) with double for powerplay goals and triple for shorties. Same for multi-goal games (double, triple, etc). Each round's total will also be multplied by round number.

 

Total (after Game 4 vs. Hawks): $17.40

What a wonderful long life, 96 years old. Still, sorry to hear of Ken's loss, and thoughts and prayers to the family. Dave will do great in Ken's absence. RIP, Mr. Daniels.

very sad to hear, but at 96, it sounds like his father lived quite a long and productive life.

As for the game, is anyone excited to hear Dave Strader back with Mickey? I always thought those two were fantastic together.

It'll probably be Dave and Murph I don't think Mickey was there last night.



Sorry for Ken's loss but at least his dad lived a long hopefully happy life.
