Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 A little bit better of a period, but the Wings are no better off than they were after the first.
TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 For the Wings to not be playing well and to still be tied up I'll take it, though grudingly. I just hope Cleary's whiff on the empty net doesn't come back to bite them. Yes, the puck was rolling a bit, but you've just got to bury those golden opportunities when they come, especially against a goalie who's been as hot as Elliot. GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 St. Louis seems to be in our heads. Hitchcock is outcoaching Babcock right now.
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Has the 2nd period become our weak one? We'll have a good 4rd and make Mike happy.
Red Wings Addict 787 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Hitchcock is outcoaching Babcock right now. Quite a euphemism there.

Hockey Convert 55 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 The Wings all look like they're more worried about getting hit each time they touch the puck than making plays. This is exactly what San Jose did to them the last two playoffs.

TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Has the 2nd period become our weak one? We'll have a good 4rd and make Mike happy. I'd have to agree there seems to be a recent trend of the Wings' level of play dropping off in the 2nd. No idea why, and I don't think it's the longer distance to the bench from the d zone. Still if the "normal" pick it up for the 4rd happens, we should be happy after the final horn.

TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 This Mike? Why does that particular pic of Babcock make me picture Elmer Fudd saying "I'll fix you you wascally wabbit"? It's just not as intimidating as the death stare, imho.
