blgillett 48 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 I'm not opposed to this, but I'd feel better if we were talking about a defenseman right now. We have forwards coming out of places where forwards have no business being in the first place. I agree I would take him also and we have no choice but to add a defense man even if we re up Q we still need at least one guy and we have a few extra forward to dump

Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) I want a scoring punch just as much as the next person, but I would be leery to offer him anything over 3 years. Pav has 2 years left on his deal, and I'm curious about what he's going to do... he's mentioned wanting to go finish his career in Russia in a few interviews, so I wonder if 35 is the age he goes back home. If we have Semin for an extra 2-3 years past that, I think he reverts back to an unmotivated player. I think Pavel is the key in getting the most out of Semin, should he come to Detroit. Guest RedWingsDad Report post Posted July 5, 2012 Skeptical about Semin, but with Pavel, anything is pasha-ble (get it?) I see what you did there. I don't think we have much option at this point than to get er' done with Semin. Add Doan, and trade for Yandle and we are fairly solid. I wanted Doan anyways so this would be a great scenario from my POV.

Is there a way to make it conditional that if Pavs goes back to Russia, Semin automatically has to as well? Would the NHL & IIHF approve that?

Guest RedWingsDad Report post Posted July 5, 2012 ill take doan over semins right now. doan could lure in yandle Luckily we don't necessarily have to choose between the two. Why not get both? We need both IMO. 1 LeftWinger reacted to this
ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) ill take doan over semins right now. doan could lure in yandle No real need to "lure" Yandle in given that he's under contract. What we would need to do is have Doan convince the Coyote's organization to trade Yandle for a song. And by song, I mean for Emmerton & a Karen Newman CD. BamaWing 37 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 Im perfectly fine with 4it years and i've been wanting to sign him for awhile now. He has 40 goal scorer ability easily with Datsyuk being his center. At this point we have to have a signing like Semin. Best case scenario to me is sign Doan and Semin then trade for Yandle. 1 13dangledangle reacted to this
LeftWinger 4,962 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) Just imagine 40 from Semin, 30 from Doan and potential 50 from Nash (or 40 from Ryan) The LGW users will be wondering who Hudler and Franzine every were.... Hey bamawing, I was in your state for the first time ever last weekend, Decatur, loved it! I couldn't understand the gas station attendant too good, but I was too busy being amazed by the price of $2.80 per gallon to care! Other then cheap gas and cheap cigarettes there is nothing really to do in Alabama until College football season. I just moved to Alaska to get out of Alabama. Winterberg 6 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 Yes, it has been reported that Doans agent has called Holland a few times already expressing intetest in coming here if he leaves... I thought I read somewhere (impossible to find it again because I have read so many blogs/articles/twitter messages in the past few days) that Doan's agent was soliciting officers - not just from Detroit- in order to use a leverage in his talks with the Coyotes. I hope this is not true and he wants to sign with Detroit.
