Marxx71 1 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 (edited) I have always loved him. Great for him and the team that he's scoring some goals. Love his speed, size and grit. I also think the kid is pretty skilled.... Edited May 13, 2013 by Marxx71

GoOzzieGo 22 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 (edited) Loved it. From the reaction of the crowd, you would have thought this was a Detroit home game. *edit....sorry, I don't know how to make the youtube window small in my post. kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 Yeah I have no idea where this guy's offense is coming from, but I hope he keeps it up. I'll readily admit that I never liked him, and have given him tons of s*** over the years. So this is definitely egg on my face. But I'll gladly be wrong when it comes to something like this. Dare I say...he plays like a...power forward? 1 Rick D reacted to this
Guest The Axe Report post Posted May 13, 2013 He has Anaheim's number. If he plays like that against all teams, he's irreplaceable. Gritty.
kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 Who knows, if we're lucky he'll be a Clarkson type who didn't develop his offensive game until a little later. Either way, I'm not complaining.

kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 The thing I like about his play right now is that he's shooting from everywhere all the time. He's got confidence coming out of his ears. 1 St. Michael (the Red Wing) reacted to this
Guest The Axe Report post Posted May 13, 2013 Playing to his potential This is what I was upset about. Didnt seem lkke he had progressed at all since year 1. Now it looks like he's becoming legit. 1 St. Michael (the Red Wing) reacted to this
unsaddleddonald 357 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 Abby has turned into the type of guy that completes an elite team. He is the type of depth guy you absolutely need in order to be a contender. If we can add an elite scorer and move Abby back to the 3rd line (where he still belongs), then watch out. Having Helm and Abby on a 3rd line and adding in Tatar....nice. If we could mortgage the farm for Stamkos, I'd give it a thought. Hank-Dats-Stamkos Franzen-Filppula-Nyquist Brunner-Helm-Abdelkader Andersson-Emmerton-Tatar Kronwall-Ericsson Smith-DeKeyser Kindl-Lashoff Colo, Sproul, Frk, Nesrosil, and 4 first rounders for Stamkos. Horton in UFA. Dump Bertuzzi and Samuelsson with buyouts. Let go of Cleary, White, Eaves, Miller, etc.

This is mortgaging the farm?......a bunch of unproven players and a scrub for another team's still young superstar. I'm sure Yzerman will be all over that. 1 Rick D reacted to this
Rick D 350 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 I couldn't stand him, and his stupid penalties last year. I thought someone was crazy when they moved him up with Pav. Glad he has found some offense, and is playing so well. Glad i was wrong about him all along.

Ram 240 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 (edited) Made my first jersey purchase a few years back and debated for weeks on end between Helm and Abby. Now I wish I would've gotten the Abdelkader. Not only are there more letters for the same amount of money, but dude's been lights out lately! Stud! Keep it up Abby. (And get well soon Helm, not to dog you). Very glad that Abby has formed into a critical role when the team needed someone like him to step up most. Agreed. wingfan1991 221 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 gotta give it up to him.. never was a fan, but in the past couple months he's really stepped up and improved dramatically. playing with Pavel really turned his game around.

Nev 1,085 Report post Posted May 13, 2013 He struggled at first on that top line, looked like a fish out of water, but the last month or 6 weeks he's found his niche, worked out his role. Crashing bodies in the corner, separating defencemen from the puck, and going straight to the front of the net.

Glad he has found some offense, and is playing so well. Glad i was wrong about him all along. I gotta say I was scratching my head constantly trying to figure out any reasonable reason that Babcock was putting Abby on the first line with pav for the second half of the season. I still don't know the reason why he did it and stuck with it but wow am I happy he did! Great coaching move for the most part
Guest The Axe Report post Posted May 13, 2013 That break away goal looked like Gaborik. I gotta be honest, he looked like a legit top 6 player in game 6 and 7.
