sjr2012 439 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 I saw that awesome poll on Miller and Eaves and how there roles are alike and now I wonder about these two so between Glen and Andy who would you guys rather see? I think Glen has a lot of Potential hasn't given uplooking for number 1 Andy can be a great pk but seems to have taken a step back from last year. 1 number9 reacted to this

Son of a Wing 1,644 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 To be honest, I don't think I've seen enough of Glendening to make that call. He seems to really work his but off all the time. Then again, a lot of guys do when they first break into the league. So for now I'll say Andersson for his face-off ability till I see more of Glendening. DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Skating- Andersson Both have similar top end speed, Andersson has better acceleration and agility. Faceoffs- Andersson Glendening is still learning after being a winger for most of his hockey career and should get better, but might and should doesn't get you much. Offensive awareness Andersson Neither have lit it up, but Andersson at least has 13 points. Glendening gets less TOI a game and hasn't played with many quality line mates but he should have more than 4 assists at this point. Defensive awareness-push neither are Selke candidates, but both are solid defensive forwards Grit-Glendening Andersson is about as gritty as a marshmallow while Glendening is at least willing to get in peoples' faces. You can't be serious - Andersson has Bert speed. 6 jimmyemeryhunter, esteef, jthiel86 and 3 others reacted to this

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 So does Glendening Glendening has decent wheels - I think most people would back me on this. You are the first person I have heart say that Andersson has top end speed and also the first person I have heard call Glendening slow. Agree to disagree I guess. 1 sjr2012 reacted to this
DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 I didn't say Andersson has wheels, I just don't think Glendening is all that quick. he might be a bit faster than Andersson, but his overall skating isn't as good from what I've seen.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Andersson was a surprise last season, but this season whatever line he's been on seems to play poorly most nights. I get that he's decent on the draws and a pretty good PKer. We have lots of PKers, and the dude is just super slow. He probably has the inside track on Glendening, but I don't see in the lineup much after the break with Weiss and Franzen back.
martinezsvsu 240 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 glendening is the effing man! love his grit, perfect fit for line 4. 1 sjr2012 reacted to this
Nevermind 363 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Glendening. He's grittier than Andersson and a righty as well. I think Andersson has better hockey sense, but he's too slow and isn't physical at all, despite decent size. It's not like he's creative offensively either. Right now, we might get a few more points out of Andersson, but I think we're a lot better off with Glendening long-term. Both are career 3rd/4th liners, and I'd prefer more sandpaper there. Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Andersson is probably the more valuable player. He can play on the third line, he's clutch in the faceoff circle, and he's a very good PKer. But, as I've said many times, I'm just not terribly fond of him. Glendening has been a nice surprise. He gives us a good agitating presence, some spunk, a right-handed shot. But let's also be realistic: he's a career fourth-liner. So, I dunno. 1 sjr2012 reacted to this
sjr2012 439 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 yea Glendening can be a beast love his grit and his heart he wants it every night and you need that for a bottom six guy
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 Andersson for me. The only advantages I can see for Glendening are 1) Grittier, which causes LGW to go into spasms of ecstasy, and over-rate it over other elements of the skill set 2) Not as slow 3) Newer. Something which is very important on LGW. Give it another season for us to become more familiar with his flaws and his popularity will plummet in the face of the next unproven young player. Andersson is great on face-offs, a good PKer and decent offensively. He's a 10-10-20 guy, which ain't bad for a 4th line PK specialist, and better than Glendening. 1 Son of a Wing reacted to this
