Firefighter4WingedWheel 12 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 Did anybody see the hit on Toews? Sounds like he is done for the season. They said he could play if need be, but I don't know why they would risk it. So Toews and Kane out, doesn't look good for the Black-squawks to repeat. So Toews and Kane out, doesn't look good for the Black-squawks to repeat. It was a clean hit, but he got ROCKED. I'd be amazed if nothing was broken (collarbone) or displaced (shoulder). If he could play right now I'd be shocked. Orpik hits like a truck.
amato 3,210 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 Heard they're both supposed to be ready for playoffs so I don't think it'll effect their chances of repeating. Although I didn't think their repeat chances were that good before the injuries either 1 Firefighter4WingedWheel reacted to this
Firefighter4WingedWheel 12 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 I agree it was a very clean hit. Orpik is a beast. Will be interested to see if anything is broken. The way he went to the ice following the hit you could tell he was seeing Dallas Stars.....
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 Saw it, perfectly clean hit.....Milbury is a complete Baffoon by the way (his comments on the hit). When I saw him skate away, I figured it was a shoulder injury, but could be collar bone as well. Last I heard is that he'll sit the rest of the regular season, but is supposed to be 100% for the start of the playoffs.

Firefighter4WingedWheel 12 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 Didn't Milbury get in trouble for something he said not too long ago? I can't remember exactly what it was, so if someone could remind me that would be great. It was something he said on air that was controversial.

martinezsvsu 240 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 they're resting him until the playoffs, hawks will be fine. kane will be back early in the playoffs too. only thing that sucks for them is stl, ducks, sj, col, LA.
rrasco 1,312 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 I like when Milbury and Roenick get into it.
hooon 1,089 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 Both guys will be back by the playoffs, so it shouldn't matter. Such a shame that Duchene is out for the Avs, otherwise I could definitely see the Hawks losing in the first round. I don't think they repeat this year anyway, there's way too many other good teams in the West.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 They only have a few games left, and they're mostly meaningless. (Home ice, big whoop.) I think they're mostly just resting him. Under different circumstances, he'd probably be playing. Let's not forget: they won the Cup last season, and they - Toews and Kane - really haven't had much trouble with injuries. Point being, they were probably due for some rest anyway.

Firefighter4WingedWheel 12 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 To win the Stanley Cup? I meant for the rest of the season. He will be back for the playoffs but no point in playing him until then.
