Yeah I mean it's a Red Wings restaurant. Probably worth going in to.

A lot of people used to go to Greektown b4 games. I assume that's still the case.

Possibly.

When I stayed at the Greektown Casino (was about 8 years ago, and the Wings were still playing at the Joe, and I was off my leash) the 'People Mover' had a stop at both locations which made it cheap, and easy.

Looking at the website - it'll be a hike to the LCA from the closest 'People Mover' station which would be the 'Grand Circus Park'...IMHO - best to head to Corktown, and park for free, and ride a shuttle bus which will drop you off a block away from the LCA.

I was at that game. If you went to Lafayette for dogs right after we were probably in very close proximity... I like to think we've shared a meal together in a way...

lol I was there with some family for the back-to-backs (Colorado and NJ) It wasn't until the day after the NJ game that we grabbed our dogs. Just before crossing the border. Close enough I guess.

Was there in 14 for Lidstrom #retirement

- stayed at Greektown Casino (convenient)

- had BBQ at Slows ("OK" maybe a little overrated but you'll likely pass old Tiger Stadium site en route and are about 20 feet away from Michigan Central)

- went to Motown Museum (totally rad)

- ate some coneys at Lafayette

- did go to Hockeytown Cafe (it's like Hard Rock - wayyyyyy to on the nose for me, but hey, it's close to LCA)

Have a great time @arag

Thanks for your recommendations!!!

Other than being a Red Wings fan Iam also a big music junkie! I was looking forward to visiting Motown Records Museum. In any case Iam  very excited to visit Detroit for the first time! I do appreciate your help very much!

Hi Hi Detroit! What is a good place to shop for some Detroit sports stuff?

If you want autographs and memorabilia, you can try Hockeytown Authentics. If you just want souvenirs, LCA will have a lot to choose from.

Isn’t Meijer a supermarket?

It's a superstore. They're basically Wal-Mart's little brother.

This used to be Detroit athletic co if Iam not wrong. Got few things before online. I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks !

Yes it was Detroit Athletic...Over the summer they expanded/remodeled, and changed the name, but the same folks still own the shop.

And it's also down the street from McShanes pub, and other eating/drinking establishments that are popular before/after games, and offer shuttle buses.

I thought they made sausages?

You're thinking of Oscar Mayer, based out of Chicago. But if you ask the locals, they'll tell you that Abe Froman is the real Sausage King of Chicago.

If you get on the peoplemover at Greektown and get off at the Michigan Ave stop, you can walk two blocks from there to the corner of 1st and 3rd. There's a gentlemen there who goes by s*** Show Martinez if you're looking for that good good.

Wouldn't 1st and 3rd run parallel to each other?
