Not too surprising…For the most part he’s played well for every team he’s been on.

@Scott R Lucidi and @Akakabuto obviously owe him a major apology, but those two regards choose to just bury their heads in the sand and dig their regard holes deeper. Who else do they love to hate? Ras and Seider? Joke posters.

IMO, I'm excited to see if Chia can replicate what he did for the Habs in the playoffs. He's having a very solid year as our #4 Dman. I'm ready for him to elevate even higher.

His possession metrics are terrible.

I acknowledged earlier that he has elevated himself from absolute suckage.

Never hated Ras. Seider? C’mon. What are you talking about, habibi?

But your apology to Ben is noted and will be considered. Allah bless.

Pornman is writing about young boys: college, chl and euro free agents. At the top of the list he puts:

Quote

1. Collin Graf, RW, Quinnipiac-ECAC

Graf was a major part of Quinnipiac’s NCAA title run last spring and has been a top player in the country again this season. He has a ton of offensive talent and has the potential to score in the NHL. He is a very skilled puckhandler who skates well and can create on the move like a pro. He sees the ice well, can run a power play with quick decisions, and has a good shot as well. His game can lack physicality at times and stick too much to the perimeter, which is my only concern about him, but I wouldn’t call him soft or a low-compete type. He is a player a lot of NHL teams will have interest in, and he could be a legit middle-six wing in the league. Last spring, the Red Wings were rumored to have gotten close to signing Graf before he decided to go back to school.

Anybody know anything about this dood?

I like this news, that signing is iffy... like he's making Walman money...

Who knows if it’s true. Maybe he’s looking for more ice time and Y is trying to accommodate him. Otherwise weird to sign a guy to a three year deal and move him so soon.

Also the players like him and he isn’t the total disaster he came advertised as…..

True but we've got plenty of prospects on tap... I don't think he was ever playing out the full 3 years with us.

It was no secret they were looking for a RHD in the offseason. They signed Holl before Petry became a available. You'd have to think they don't sign Holl if they know they're getting Petry.

Emily Kaplan: Wings are shopping Holl.

Good. One thing Derek and I agree on is Holl is the worst Dman on this team. Not saying Holl's bad Just the worst of a deep group. He probably could play the 5/6 spot on another team. But he plays the least amount of games and the least amount of minutes of any of our Dmen. And we can't pay a 7th Dman on a medicore defense this much money going forward. Shed now if we can, he's only going to lose value when he plays even less going forward.

Was reading about Flames rumors and found two interesting ones:

Gaudreau didn't pull the plug on CGY. His new wife did. Johnny had slept with basically every puck bunny in the Calgary social circle before meeting his wife, so she was constantly embarrassed having to interact with these other women at social gatherings. Kinda makes sense with Johnny's comments about choosing Columbus because it was a good place to settle down and raise a family.

Wings related one is: Backlund actually requested a trade as far back as the Gaudreau/Tkachuk fiasco. The three teams he requested to be sent to were Avs, Stars, and Wings. Maybe we keep our eye on him at the TDL? If we're in the playoff picture Backlund could be some cheap vet center depth. Play papa to Raymond and Berggren.

I dont think CGY wants to trade Backlund anymore, but the guy has requested a trade once b4, and after Markstroms comments about the room being upset with management... maybe this is our Legwand move?
