You're clearly not a fan of Fabbri and are trying to justify the contract being a bad one. You keep going on about his injury history when he just had a healthy season. Your reaction is as if his agent took Yzerman to the cleaners on a long term deal. He is on a bridge deal at a fair salary for his production as an RFA. He has two more years to show he can stay healthy and improve upon the season he just had. Win win.

He's had one healthy season in the last four. Sorry if I'm not totally convinced he's healthy.

Interesting, Chicago may be looking to move Brandon Saad for cap space this offseason, per Chicago sports media. https://www.dailyherald.com/sports/20200827/could-saad-be-headed-out-of-town-again

Always loved Brandon Saad. Throw him on a line with Zadina and Marco Rossi and our top six would be sick.

Would be so damn sweet after the first go around. But I'm pretty sure the Jackets are looking for a lot more in the skill department. Hence why I like the idea of a deal around Merzlikins and Zadina.

LOL for someone with a lot of bad takes, this one is certainly up there...

I'm all for trades... that make sense... If we were a contending team that just needed to fix our goaltending woes, sure, I'd do it. But we're not. We're a rebuilding team that has holes at every single position.

There's no way we should trade a 20 year old, former 6th overall, top six (maybe top line) winger, for a 26 year old that has one *very good season under his belt, but could be another flash in the pan.

Regardless how you think either of these players will pan out, Zadina will be just entering his prime, while Merzlikins will be exiting his, when we're on the other side of this rebuild.

See: Kapanen to PIT #REKT

Toronto likely wins that trade (depending on how they use that 15th overall pick), but if you think either side made that trade without thinking long and hard, you're extremely naive. I'd bet a similar trade was in the works before the trade deadline, but they couldn't come to terms. Kapanen has been rumored to be on the block for what? The past year? No GM is offered up a trade, and says "f*** it, why not!", and I'd bet the majority of GM's sit on a trade offer for days before they come to a decision.

Should Stevie give Kari Lehtonen a ring and see if he wants to slap on the winged wheel and stop some pucks this season? I think he should.

It's absolutely an option. Kari is a pretty good goalie and the price should not be to steep.
