Look at what other teams are exposing, there's way too many better Dmen available. Maybe they take Cholo or Lindstrom and send them to Palm Springs/Charlotte? But I think that's the only way they take a Dman from us. Stecher is basically safe. If they want immediate help from their Detroit selection they will opt for Namestnikov or Svechnikov.

Can't risk it. I'll still be very upset if he's unprotected.

I think that tells you what confidence SY had in Cholowski's development. Lindstrom is nothing special, but may still end up the better player.

Assuming Mo makes the roster, Stecher would have been pushed down to 3rd pair. Lindstrom should be able to fill that roster spot. Just sucks losing the potential pick for him at the TDL.

Yeah, I personally would have protected Cholowski over both, and Stecher over Lindstrom, but oh well. Regardless, we're not losing a significant piece. I just hope they take a forward (Namestnikov)...

Lindstrom being protected isn't really surprising... They protected the youngest of the remaining d men. Honestly expected it. Wouldn't have been surprised at either Stecher or Cholowski being protected instead though.. but Dekeyser makes no sense to protect over any if the other three.

I would say Namestnikov feels like the pick if they're trying to contend immediately. He's a solid depth guy. If they're thinking more long term, Cholowski feels like the pick.

Considering   6 of his 8 goals this past season were into an empty net, I don't think we would lose a thing if we lost  Namestnikov.  In fact, I think we would improve.

Cholowski is only 8 months older than Lindstrom, and in my opinion has the higher ceiling of the two. I think Cholowski would have been the better protection, but whatever.

Fair. It's a toss up for me. I like em both, but wouldn't be upset at losing either of them.
